I am SO screwed.

...there's just no other way to say it...

My hands are shaking as I'm writing this. Why is this happening to me?

Today, I got pulled aside from work. Usually this happens when someone is either about to get fired, or promoted.
    ...I wasn't up for promotion.

I got to work today, and figured I had forgotten my ID card at my apartment, but I got someone else to open the office door for me, and I used a temporary login ID at my workstation. I've done it a million times before...I have a habit of losing things easily, see...so it's no big deal for me to just ask for a temporary user account until I can find the card I need to swipe the next day.

But I found out this afternoon that I hadn't simply forgotten it.

Somehow, some way...I think it's been stolen.

Apparently it was logged in the SHENtek system that I tried to access an office computer after hours last night.

And I DEFINITELY don't remember doing that.

I keep telling myself that MAYBE I just had a network connection still open on my laptop at home, and when I checked my email last night, it activated.

    But I'm fairly certain I didn't.

See, here's the thing: the SHENtek higher ups...they're total sticklers for security. Even the slightest network malfunction and they completely get up in arms about everything...which was one of the HUGE reasons I had such a huge mess on my hands during the fire alarm earlier this week. They don't even allow their own EMPLOYEES to access the network when they aren't supposed to.

Seriously: they don't allow ANY kind of slacking. They've blocked everything. Facebook, MySpace, Youtube...they even have GOOGLE blocked on our workstations. They only allow you to do what you're SUPPOSED to do, and nothing more or less.

So...if it turns out that weird stuff starts happening on my account, I'm utterly finished. And I'll probably get sued for negligence.

The worst part: I can't get a password reset until Monday, since the security office closes early on Fridays.

Looks like I'll be holding my breath for two days.
...I hope next week will bring good news.

  • Mason obviously took the card as you see him inserting it into some machine and then saying the info was being sent to whomever is on the phone.  So I assume that machine then made it possible for the "guy on the phone" to then access SHENtek servers signed in as William Powers.  The real question is, what does SHENtek have that they want so badly!!
Also I'm sure the objective for Mason wasn't just to get that info as the morse code told him to be armed.  If he was under the cover of the alarms going off I'm sure he didn't need to be heavily armed at that point.  (unless he really sucks as being sneaky to get what he wanted).  I think maybe there is more to his mission, and I think that is to hurt/kill Will.  Idk, thats just a thought.. i could be way off base though!

  • :):):)

  • but if he was planning on hurting/killing Will, couldn't he have done so when he passed him on the staricase?

  • i think he needed to get the stuff first w/o being caught hence the sneaky "in and out" I don't know if he's suppose to kill him or not.

  • it's beem so long i forget was 436 is... :[

    meep

  • Honestly, I'm worried about this Mason guy. He's sketchy. I wonder what went down at the party...

  • Ana Stylos,
There is no 436, it doesn't exist.

    MEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • if a 436 falls over in the forest and nobody is around to witness it, did it ever really happen?

  • wow, we only have 5 weeks left of OUTBREAK

  • I wonder if Mason is being blackmailed. If whomever he is working for was good, why wouldn't they give him back his memories right away? Why string him along? If he had them right away, he would have known to trust that man on the phone. Or not to trust him. A good organization would not have had to blackmail him. When it comes right down to it, I don't think he'll be able to kill Will.

Life is boring when you don't have a job, and it's too cold to go outside and do anything. Too be honest, I feel like a pack-rat...like I've been stuck in a hole and left to rot. Maybe it's just the early stages of cabin fever, but for whatever reason, I REALLY wish things would stop being so boring around here.
Hopefully my job interview tomorrow will bring some good news, and I'll be able to finally get some work around here. Until then, I guess it's just draw, draw, draw! (New sketches up, soon!)
Seeing as how I've been hammered to death on Facebook about it, I guess I'll finally explain myself.

As many of you noticed, I pulled a little 'disappearing act' after my place was broken into. I didn't want to say anything because it turned out I was wrong, but you guys just won't drop the subject. :P

Alright, I'll be honest: I thought it was Will.

He was the first person that came to mind for potential suspects, and everyone's opinion of him helped convince me further. When I came home and discovered my apartment room was torn apart, I called the cops, and went with them to the station because I thought Will was trying to...you know.
Ugg. I know it sounds stupid now, and I KNOW he's gonna hate me once he reads this... (Sorry, Will. Really.)

It's just...I'm a young woman, all by myself in a new town, and I don't have any friends here. I don't know who to trust regardless of where I am anymore...I was just looking out for myself, and since I suspected Will, I decided to stay away from the apartment in case he would come back and try again...

...but once I saw his video, everything changed.

There was no way Will was even anywhere NEAR the apartment at the time of the crime. So, faced with the evidence that I had given Will a bad break, I decided to warm up to him a bit.
And he's actually been really nice since that little episode.

So...to Will...yeah, I admit it...I thought it was you. But it wasn't. And, I'm sorry. I hope you can forgive me...you've done nothing but try to be nice to me thus far, and I've kinda been a jerk in return.

    Sorry.

Anyway...it's been a boring day, and I figured now was as good a time as any to get that off my chest.

    Let's move on, shall we?
Job interview tommorrow, and Will's house party Friday night.  Should be fun.

    TTYL :)  <3 <3 <3

Thought I'd film myself at work today, but things didn't EXACTLY go as planned. - Will

...I hate Mondays. Everything goes wrong on Mondays. Nothing WORKS on Mondays, and the things you count on to pan out usually turn out to be duds.

I chose to use this, the first day of my realization that the Super Bowl Will Suck™ to utilize as my bring-your-camera-to-work day. The plan was simple: set it up, hit record, and document my boring life.

First off, I woke up this morning to find two things: 1) My apartment floor had flooded, and 2) The flood had frozen to ice.

I dunno what's worse: getting up to pee and realizing you're stepping on your next-door neighbor's broken toilet's fluids, or stepping outside to see the extent of the water damage, and falling flat on your butt INTO said fluid.

But whatever, I manage to pull myself together and go to work, camera in hand.

...but then, things REALLY fell apart.

Since I haven't put the video up yet, I wont spoil it for you, but just know that I spent the entire day working overtime, desperately trying to repair half of the office's systems.

Which, of course, leads to back pain, seeing as how I spend 90% of my time sitting, 9% lifting heavy boxes, and the other 1% proving Murphy's Law true.

And the back pain, of course, leads to headaches.

...Which lead to me being a very unhappy code monkey.

I don't know exactly what it is...maybe the squishy carpet floor of my home, or the six new piles of paperwork at the SHENtek office, but something tells me that things are about to get very ugly VERY quickly around here, and my misfortune happens to ACTUALLY be the ironic calm before the storm.

Hopefully the house party will help take my mind off things, but I'm not counting on it.

Right now I could use an aspirin, an Icy-Hot Patch, a massage, and about 20 straight hours of sleep.
I'm sure I'm just having an off day...but I've got a bad feeling about this.
