Her Deadly Secret,

I'm running...through darkness...and I hear someone running after me...I'm scared...
I stop...I look around..
no ones there...
I'm out of breath..
I feel I'm about to faint...
I hear a yell...
the dark turns to blinding light...
red splatters everywhere...I smell it....blood..
I look down to see myself covered in it...
I begin to uncontrollably shake...
I cough up blood...
I feel a sharp pain...I spin around to see a guy pointing a knife at my back...and then...black..

I woke up with a gasp, quickly jumping up to sit and hitting my head on the roof of the car.

“You okay?” Fiona asked, turning to me.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” I rubbed my head. “Just...forgot we were in the car.”
“You’re starting to worry me, Em.” Jakob said from the driver’s seat.
“Worry you? That’s crazy. I hit my head Jake, you don’t need to be worried.” I folded my arms across my chest and reclined in my seat.
I was lying through my teeth, there was a huge reason for Jakob to be worried.
“Believe me,” Fiona said with a flip of her hair. “He’s hit his head a fair share of times, it explains his crazy theories.”
Jakob didn’t have crazy theories, he was just plain right. He opened his eyes to the secret I had confided in him long ago and believed me. When I gave him permission to tell Fiona, she just thought he was crazy.
“You’re just too stubborn to actually realize that I’m not pulling a prank, I’m telling the complete truth.” Jake said turning on the blinker and switching lanes.
“Oh yeah, sure, and while you continue to tell me your crazy stories of Emmy here having some kind of magic blood, why don’t you add in some vampire clan that wants to come drink her?”  Fiona smirked.
“I guess the order is sort of that metaphorically.” Jake said with a shrug.

(continuation)

Fiona rolled her eyes, “And you continue to tell your tall-tales even when Emmy is in the car. She’s living proof that you’re a liar Jakob.”
“I’m not lying!”
“Hmm, really? So it’s common to have magic blood?” She laughed.
“Okay, let’s drop how you think I’m crazy.” Jake said speeding the car up a bit. “All I’m saying is that Emmy isn’t eating, or sleeping, or talking much.”
He was right, I wasn’t doing any of those things because I was too scared of the danger that I was putting my best friends in. The danger that Jakob knew about and didn’t seem to care if it would affect him, and the danger that Fiona was blinded from.
“Well, you’re not my father,” I said looking out the window. “So don’t be concerned.”
This was one of these moments why I wondered why I told Jakob about my blood being trait positive, he was always nagging me about being safe, he was more motherly than my own mother. And Fiona making fun of him for “making it up” constantly? It was starting to really bug me. Yes, Fiona was my best friend, and Jakob and I were great friends despite the two year age difference, but their sibling quarrels and them playing as my parents at times really annoyed me.
After a few minutes of no noise besides the radio, Fiona spoke up.
“How much longer until we get there?” She asked.
“About half an hour.” Jake said. “Just in time for lunch.” He shot me back a glance as if to say you better eat something.
I sighed, because I knew that he would be the watchdog circling around me while I nibbled on the sandwich I didn’t want to eat.
