it really bothered me that jonas pointed out that he hesitated...
What bothered me even more, however, was that jonas blatantly says "I don't understand why they wouldn't grab her if they had the chance."

these two things together make me question Jonas again.

Also... I'm questioning that greasy hair...

As a side note, my roomate actually woke me up this morning to watch the new LG video. Best roomate ever.

I don't think his whole "mental health exercise" for Bree is a good idea. I mean, she asked him and Daniel to leave her alone for a while.

I understand that leaving her alone like that might be dangerous (some people have suggested she is suicidal) but something like that is sooo in-your-face-you-have-a-problem. It's only going to make things worse...

and WHY DID HE HESITATE???

maybe he was afraid of getting shot. i mean, daniel and bree are a lot close and have known each other much longer so daniel's immediate instinct would be to save her while jonas on the other hand may not.

i like the whole conspiracy thing. i wouldn't be surprised if it was a set up. jonas said they didn't even seem interested in getting bree, just her dad which makes me think it might be a set up.

And again with all the trophys! Has he ever answered us about all this?

why does he need to? it might belong to his parents or something. and is it that surprising for someone his age to have a lot of trophies? absolutely not.

I also think it was a reference to the Kennedy vid which was "26 Seconds".

When Jonas said, "there was a blonde woman." I automatically thought it might've been Bree's mother. It would certainly explain Bree's comment about "not talking to her mother for a long time." If she watched her mother assist Baldy McCreepy in getting daddy in the trunk, or restraining him, I'd think Bree would automatically take the info she'd just been given by her father, paired with her "mother" helping kill her "father" and decide never to speak to her again. I mean, Lucy isn't the only blonde woman we've seen before. Just something to poinder.

PostPosted: Mon Jan 08, 2007 3:18 pm    Post subject: A few of my observations about the video Reply with quote

Exclamation The more I watch this video and the last few, the more I'm convinced the Order was not after Bree, at least not in the sense that they were planning to kidnap, injure physically, or kill her the day she met with her 'dad.' If they had been, there's no way it would have been so easy for Daniel (especially since Jonas admits to hesitating and wasn't actually much of a help in intervening, aside from driving) to whisk Bree away unharmed. Unless the Order is far more inept than we think, which I doubt.
Exclamation I have my doubts about whether Bree's 'dad' is dead. Yes, Jonas saw him being loaded in a trunk, but I would have expected more descriptions of blood and gore and brains leaking out on the asphalt. Clearly he got a decent look at the scene after the supposed gunshot, better at least than Daniel or Bree have admitted to, but he didn't find it worth noting that there was some kind of carnage left behind. Also, a lack of blood and fluids left behind after a supposed shooting would account for the lack of involvement of the police -- if they found a crime scene with zero evidence of an actual murder, they might not be inclined to explore it further. I also question the wisdom of Bree's 'dad' if this was a legit meeting and not some scam by the Order -- if they were supposedly on the lam, why did they meet in broad daylight where a couple of amateur sleuths like Daniel and Jonas were able to track them? Maybe this was a clever move because he knew the Order would never assassinate them in public -- but then why would he park in an isolated portion of a garage and then lead Bree there?

Exclamation For someone who supposedly lost his parents at a young age, Jonas just plain sucks at handling Bree's grief. If he really did go through that, why is he so ignorant about what Bree is dealing with? I've never lost a parent, but even I would have the common sense to at least leave Bree alone for a few days, until she shows a desire to talk about it. And if he does have such empathy because of personal experience, why is he relying on books to develop an approach to Bree's depression? It seems like that would just come off as preachy and superior, when what Bree could really use is a sympathetic, easygoing friend who will be there to talk when she's ready, not a wannabe shrink with a collection of self help books. I'm not quite convinced that Jonas' parents aren't dead and he KNOWS that -- but it would make for an interesting angle, especially since he's such an idiot about handling others' grief over death.

Perhaps, going back to the last theory I explored about Bree and Jonas' possible siblinghood, his parents felt it best to escape and go into hiding from the Order (sort of a Witness Protection Program-esque thing, whether it was with assistance from the authorities or self-imposed) and leave him in the care of a nanny or whoever it was they entrusted with him when they vacationed normally. If he knows this, it could explain a lot of his abandonment issues, those that came to light when he thought Bree had taken advantage of him and stolen his car.

Yeah, but Lucy's hair looks darker in THAT video clip than we know it really is. "Blonde" is a subjective term. I have a friend who's hair is light brown, she calls herself a blonde. Wink
I really thought we'd seen somewhere that Bree's mom had blonde hair,...but I could be mistaken. If so, sorry for the theory.

Random thought following the viewing of this image: relating to the ideas that Bree's 'mom' was some Order bigwig and her dad was not -- the body language as they walk to the car definitely makes her look like the authoritative one. Long stride, in front of her partner, who seems to wait sheepishly behind her with his head down before entering the car. Also, she's dressed like some kind of executive, even though she presumably at home in the middle of the day. Kinda the way Lucy is dressed.

Jonas' first instinct was to protect someone he's known for a few weeks at best? I smell a love triangle.

get realistic, people. just a little bit.

yes, just because you're shot doesn't mean you're dead. but if someone shoots you at close range to the point that you are on the ground, not fighting back or trying to run/crawl away, and can be lifted and put into a trunk without a hassle, chances are they got you in the gut or head which are usually fatal. to top it off, most people do not survive in trunks for much longer than 18 hours? or so says the last episode of NCIS...... Laughing

second. i think jonas says he hesitated just because it didn't look like anyone was chasing after bree. if i started after her and saw she was running away without a chase behind her, i'd stop too and not get any closer to the enemy. i'd hop back in the car and start the engine.
