Please don't feel guilty for hesitating in that parking garage, it was a natural reaction to an extremely dangerous situation. You've already don't more to help someone whom you didn't know then anyone could have expected of you. You've put yourself in danger, maybe not completely knowingly, but with more knowledge of the situation than Daniel and Bree had, and you didn't need to become involved, but you did. In my mind, that makes you brave, and a moment's hesitation when faced with an unmistakably scary situation does not change that.
