"Half a century ago, Southern California's man-made Salton Sea was considered a prime recreation location, famed for its waterskiing, bird watching and fishing. However, it is now considered a 35-mile-long ecological disaster: a stagnant, salty lake that wildlife find as inviting as a waste dump. Documentary filmmakers Chris Metzler and Jeff Springer tell the Salton Sea story as they profile the hardy eccentrics who continue to live on its shores. John Waters narrates."
