gosh I feel stupid now:
Homophones: two words are homophones if they are pronounced the same way but differ in meaning or spelling or both (e.g. bare and bear)
Rose and umm ROSE!
*tries*
failed...argh I'm calling it quit for now and power my brain with a sandwich. |

I am afraid that ms Kelly may have already changed the password again!
It seems most students already completed task 2 (their answers are on the website) and she already posted Assignment Three: The Purpose of Evil
"The current assignment is posted in the class notebook. You should use the help of Professor Boone to find the new password. "
so even though I think we were on the right track, it won't work anymore _________________ "Children analyze fantasy. They know you're kidding them. There's got to be logic in the way you kid them. Their fun is pretending...making believe they believe it." Dr Seuss |

She hasn't changed it. The simple, 2 word one is the one we've got to figure out. I don't know it. Just now puzzling it. She just changed the password today. |

i finally figured it out - it's not two spellings of the same sound, like you would think, but it's two words, each that can have two meanings (i.e., book can mean something you read or it can be a verb, as in "book 'em, danno"). they both appear in the extra credit video, and, in one of their meanings, have a similar theme.
think about the flower in one of gemma's recent videos. _________________ "The time has come," the Walrus said, "to talk of many things: of shoes and ships and sealing wax, of cabbages and kings, and why the sea is boiling hot, and whether pigs have wings?" - Through the Looking Glass |

Thanks Blair! With your help, and with a little bit of attention to detail, I figured it out as well. |

the second word is sort of an old-fashioned word - you might not think of it off the top of your head unless you look closely at the extra credit video. does that help? _________________ "The time has come," the Walrus said, "to talk of many things: of shoes and ships and sealing wax, of cabbages and kings, and why the sea is boiling hot, and whether pigs have wings?" - Through the Looking Glass |
