Looks like the poll should have listed every year from 5 to 80. I don't know that the polling software would let you have that many choices.

Something else that would have been interesting for the poll is gender. It seems like us guys are way outnumbered.

A statistic that surprised me was that for online computer games, which include roll playing games like World of Warcraft, etc., the players of those games are 67% female.

With the students we had here, the boys all played computer games, but none of the girls did. Mainly, I have shot-em-ups at the house, and those may have turned the girls off. Next girl student, I'll set up WoW and see if she likes that.

Actually, she probably wouldn't like it by herself. I guess the attraction for girls is more that a group of friends sign up at the same time so they can be on the same server. Then they can go around together and do the non-violent quests. That doesn't sound bad really. It would be kind of like this but you're walking around in interesting surroundings.

It's been my experience that girls also tend to like more story-driven action-adventure games; for example, the Legacy of Kain series. This observation is the result of very limited research, however.

I was watching that history of video games thing on MSNBC and it said (who knows if it's still true) that a greater number of women play videogames than the young boy demographic (I think it was 4-17).

I didn't really enjoy Legacy of Kain--now Prince of Persia? God of War? Awesome. Cool

Now is God of War II something you would be doing as part of a group, or would you just do it as an individual? I don't know that particular game, so I don't know the options. Is it online roll playing, or is running on your computer?

Interesting info there haha. Sometimes i do tend to think a lot of the gaming areas being dominated by mostly guys but yes i am sure the gals get into it just as much or more so in cases. Yes i am sure the more social games like "The Sims" for example and others greatly attract them. Now the shoot-em-ups hmmmm maybe some but i dunno lol. Cool deal. Cool This guy here would probably be into the online gaming stuff as well except:

1) On dial-up = sucks big time for that

2) Low on $$ from regular PC game purchases and school haha

3) No time for all the cool stuff out there (so many things grabbing my attention at once) LG15 for one big example lol

It's an individual game, and it's for the PS2. It's an action/adventure game, like PoP if you've ever played that.

Yep, waiting for that one! I've been playing Medal of Honor: Frontline, lately.
