Damn, I feel the same way.

I quit college for now, I could not find anything I wanted there at all. Maybe I'll go back, I really do not know.

It's sucks when your life just stops, and you just are lying there, frozen in time. It's almost impossible to get it moving again. It takes a lot out of you to get it going, and it might cause a lot of pain.

But once you get it moving again, it helps you to appriciate everything.

You just cant f**k up though, otherwise you will be caught in the gears of a souless machine, for the rest of your life, until the gears eventually break your body and mind.

No pressure though.

Contrary to what Broken Kid says, I think it's very important you get a job you enjoy doing. The job you choose will probably dominate half or your waking day for the next fifty years - I don't think these will be very enjoyable, if half of your day is only "tolerable"...

I'm not saying don't strive to find a job you enjoy. But, realistically, we can't all find a job doing what we love (like Ziola did). Especially those folks who don't know what they want to do.

So my point is, you can find a job you just enjoy, or a job working with people you enjoy. Then you can do what you love on your time and don't have to worry about getting paid for it.

simmy quoted ''wear sunscreen'' heh

yea, I still don't know what I want to do now either, I'm 27... only way for me to figure out what I want is to go out and try everything...

for instance... I DO NOT EVER want to work in retail again Wink

If I could go professional boxer... I'm not sure how I'ld feel as well, but for now it's something I have a fire burning to find out... there's also the brain dmg thing in the long run so it doesn't seem a strong feasible career choice Razz

Well, I got lucky. I tried to do something I thought I'd love, and was a miserable failure. Then my previous employer (the one from before the follow-your-bliss attempt) called and offered me a job doing something I thought would be intensely boring. Turns out that I love it. Go figure.

I wish I hadn't given up on teaching. I'm a qualified teacher but I had a bit of a breakdown towards the end of my training that sort of put me off teaching as a career. I found it really rewarding at times. But I don't think I can do it because I don't have the confidence. It's such a good thing to do though.

i would have done something in the music field~ all i ever wanted to do was sing growing up but did not pursue a career in music because I thought that all i would be able to do is teach....i realize now i could have done so much more. oh and nothing against teaching...its just not my thing...

i'm content and do love my job now don't get me wrong ~ things happen for a reason i truly believe.

live your dreams...ya know? think about your career very carefully and choose something you truly enjoy doing!! you are so young and have your whole life ahead of you. good for you for thinking about this seriously!

like betsy, I do sometimes wish I had the courage and drive to pursue something in music when I was younger too...

singing is still a passion to me, but the more I sing and watch others sing, the more self-concious and self-criticizing I get Razz

but to stand on a stage and sing out my lungs or even standing next to the piano singing some ole' blue eyes' songs at the hippest martini lounge in the area acting all debonair with the scotch in hands...

*sigh* to dream...

it is your passion...let me tell ya i know what you're talking about! something about being on stage or just singing a song that means so much to you. you dont know how many times i have thought to myself ... i should just pursue my dream, pick up, move, whatever...it takes guts to actually do it at my age (and i havent yet)

again ~ think long and hard ~ find something you enjoy. Job fairs are an excellant way to see what is available in your area ~ something may
interet you!

That's some of the best advice ever Ziola. I wish I'd figured that out much earlier I did Wink

I wish I would have learned to surf when I was little and I wish I would have joined a band and I wish I knew how to play the piano and I wish I wouldn't have been scared of stuff I shouldn't have been scared of. I still don't know what I'd want to do though. I thought I wanted to be a painter..but in real life..I realized that I would actually hate to be a painter. I want to be something different about 300 times a year.
