Okay, but you could say that about hundreds of contemporary artists and artworks. It doesn't mean that it's any kind of source material for LG15. A huge number of contemporary artists make art about the same kind of biological and genetic conundra that LG15 seems to be exploring. Suzanne Anker, Eduardo Kac, Hunter O'Reilly, Stelarc... and Matthew Barney. It doesn't mean that LG15 is using any of them as source material, just that the Creators are interested in the same themes.

If I may jump in here, I don't think anyone was saying that LG15 was taking anything from the Cremaster Cycle, just pointing out that there are some interesting parallels that might be interesting to read or check out further.
There are dozens of discussions like this about Egyptian mythology, Biblical names, Freemasonry... I don't think anyone really thinks that the Creators are taking info from any one source.
It does make interesting reading, trying to find the little points where they intersect. |

No, it doesn't mean it's a source.....but it could be. I don't think I ever stated that it was definitely a part of this series so I'm not sure why you are trying so hard to prove that it's not....or at least that's the feeling I get from your posts. All any of us who are researching and contributing are trying to show are the possibilities. I love the research and find it not only entertaining but educational. _________________ LG15 needs more COWBELL!

I understand what you're saying, but as you can see here, Luv2SkyDive is saying that the Cremaster Cycle is a possible source.
Interesting parallels are all well and good, but the discussions are here to help separate the merely interesting from the truly relevant. Otherwise, we might as well have threads about how LG15 is based on the "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" claymation special because someone thinks Bree = Rudolph because she's a mutant outcast and Jonas = Yukon Cornelius because he's a loner and at some point someone ice-skates a figure 8 which looks like the logo on the Epogen box.
I'm saying that the Cremaster Cycle falls into the "interesting but not relevant" category. _________________ Dang it! The Deacons stole my wig again! |

And other's might disagree.....
Seeing as you've made your stance on this known, there should be no reason why you would post in such an irrelevent thread again, correct? That would make you a hypocrite of your own judgement of the point of these threads.
I mean, continuing to discuss this with me would perpetuate the notion of it being ok to create any old "Rudolph"-type idea in the Plot area and that would be wrong.
Anywho.....gotta go for now. *laughs herself away all the way to the car* _________________ LG15 needs more COWBELL!

Like so many of us, Luv2 spends countless hours in research looking for that single gold nugget in the bottom of the stream. That means she and many others sift through a whole lot of sand and mud in the process. That's part of the fun! If no one did it, why what would we be talking about... whether Daniel really got lucky? Or, how come Bree can't stand is cooking? Big deal.
I'm grateful for the efforts of Luv2 and her forum compatriots. Whether it's discussions about espionage strategies, questions about the New World Order or (in my case) rediculously long disertations about the Illuminati - it's all part of what makes the LG15 experience so damned entertaining.
I'd rather take the time to sift through her writings, follow the links she and others provide and discuss and debate the ideas than read through page after page of one and two word remarks.
Just my 2 cents. _________________ It's STILL all connected... |

Well, if I gave the wrong impression of saying this was the KEY then that was a misunderstanding. I just followed the links, found something I thought was interesting and could clue us in on what makes Bree special......that's it.
I'm not fond of my research being compared to Rudolph (no offense Rudolph lovers) but to each their own and I try to go into everything with an open mind. LG15 requires that of us because it isn't exactly a normal, realistic storyline itself.
I think we are a very welcoming forum to new posters.....we've all been there (my thread on people's first post was pretty entertaining!) and we don't shoot down "crazy" ideas because you never know when that idea might show up in a video! _________________ LG15 needs more COWBELL!

The cremaster Cycle is art...a quite complex and beautiful piece, infact, and it's my opinion that art speaks to art/ of art/ with art....hell, even for the sake of art. The primal undertones in something like Cremaster can be paralelled to many other projects, ideas and aspects of other works...not to mention the paralells between it and actual, every day life. You know, the point?. I think it's amazing that L2S brought this up. I'm in awe. _________________ Me and my key...same as it ever was. |

I had never heard of Matthrew Barney.....I read somewhere that the DVD boxed sets, created in very limited quantity, were being sold for $100,000! Don't know how accurate that is, but I'm definately interested in this Cremaster Cycle, no matter it's importance or lack thereof to the LG15 saga. My brain was on overload as I was going through the website......it is the most intriguing piece of information I've come across since....since....the Illuminati? _________________ LG15 needs more COWBELL!
