So I can get away with having Spybot S&D on my computer at the same time as Ad-Aware and AVG? AND Spyware cleaner? They wont, oh I don't know, make each other not work as good or nothing? (excuse the lack of techie skillz)
Also, say I run all of these things and fix everything they find and whatnot. What if there's something they dont catch that's just lurking on my PC somewhere? Where would I look? |
Yup... They'll play nice. Like djmadscribbler said, the only thing that wouldn't is multiple antivirus programs.
I'd also like to note that it's usually a good idea to run these tools in safe mode, once you've done all their self-updates. It makes it a little less-likely that something will be unable to be cleaned.
And, if they leave something lurking on your computer, you could be in for some fun How comfortable are you editing the registry?

LOL not at all! Unless it's an entry that I'm 99% sure is something I know (like computer games), other than that I'm pretty much scared to touch the registry. I've always been warned that playing around with that can get you in deep doo doo.
I THINK I've gotten all of it (seems that I, ahem, downloaded something that contained...malware I think it was?), I'm just curious as to whether I've gotten it all or there's still some lurking around in there.
I'm sure my PC is due for a good cleaning as is, that there's probably all sorts of crap in there I don't need anyways! |

Maybe you don't need those things, but the Knights of the Lambda Calculus sure do. _________________ Tenser, said the Tensor.

If super secret hackers think that they can effectively take over the world using pictures of my dog, Lost/Heroes episode clips, and old Sierra On-Line point and click adventure games.....well, go them. |

God's eternal steganography.
What if the world could be conquered by realizing the secret language of seemingly mundane items?
The world's truth is revealed in the world itself.
A picture is worth a thousand words. And a world is worth a thousand pictures.
"The word within a word, unable to speak a word,
Swaddled with darkness."
"The Tao that can be spoken of is not the Tao itself."
"IF YOU DON'T SEE THE FNORD IT CAN'T EAT YOU, DON'T SEE THE FNORD, DON'T SEE THE FNORD . . ."
All I gotta say.
