Not to get all Adam Carolla or anything, but "freelance entertainment journalist" is up there with "community college." The phrase sounds like you're actually doing something, but the first word qualifies the special circumstances of the situation.
It's like saying you're a "freelance ninja assassin." If you've got time on your hands, "freelance" might as well be code for "pretend" or "make believe." But on the other hand, if you're a full-time ninja assassin, working for a guild of ninja assassins...well, that gives you some qualifications based in reality.

Besides, "many of us" believe doesn't qualify your point, and as a journalist you should know that you can't get away with sloppy data framing that way. Hard facts and numbers, double-checked! Generalizations don't belong in professional journalism!
But aside from that...simply staying at home doesn't mean you're rocking your kid's world or anything.
And yeah, it's an important job to your child. But don't expect us to honor you with a parade when it means nothing in the grand scheme of any of our lives.
The whole point of what I am saying is that between these two jobs you've got going, you surely must have some other stuff to do. But even then, you'd probably make time to overdo this.
Step outside. Take a walk, listen to classical music. Think about something else and then come back to post. The "perspective" on things will be refreshing. But to have perspective, you have to have something else to focus on.

I totally disagree with KTS on probably every issue LG related, but that is no reason to start personally insulting her. Perhaps I have missed some long ago phlame war and you are all getting your inner angst on towards her, but let it go.
I am a non-stay at home monkey but yet I welcome all to the Circus of the LG15 tent.

I'm a stay at home-ite! 
As much as I think Bree has gone off the deep end thinking about a her future career at this point, I think she should be a veterinarian assistant or something close to that. Maybe she can go to some small town where they'd be more forgiving of a lack of further education and put her in some kind of apprenticeship. |
