Daniel,

I don't know if you had a chance to peruse some of the links regarding ribozymes, but the one regarding "RNA World Hypothesis" might be important. Basically, the hypothesis states that RNA was the main genetic factor in evolution before DNA came into existence.

Check it out: I think you'll find it interesting. If nothing else, some of the diagrams look quite similar to the diagrams made by Bree's Dad in his notebook.
