I don't know how much he has been already talked about or researched...or even if he actually has anything to do with the actual Hymn of One itself or is merely an influence, but I was just curious when I saw his quote on the webpage...so I googled him! lol

I found this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aleister_Crowley

AND (weirdest of all to me):
http://www.thelemicknights.org/acfhome.html

Maybe people with good sleuthing skills can look through these names, and make a connection to anything said by Bree or anyone else in this series:

No offense, hon, but there are literally hundreds of pages on both of these topics. Do a search.

Don't worry about it, we all do it. Laughing Usually by doing a search you can tell if something has been talked about before. Very Happy

I'm sure plenty of people have done some research on A. Crowley. I'm hoping I can clear a few things up.

Aleister Crowley was not a satanist as many people would believe, but rather he was a brilliant occultist. (Please note that the occult is not associated in any way, shape, form, or manner to Satan or the Dark Arts. If you look in a dictionary, the proper definition of the occult is basically a study of anything paranormal or spirtual.)

I have been a practicing occultist for some time, and have studied the work of A. Crowley. At one point, he did "create" (more like "discover") his own religion, called Thelema. The "religion" had three "laws."

"Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law."
"Love is the law, love under will."
"There is no Law beyond Do what thou wilt"

Crowley wrote that the Law is not a license to indulge in casual whim or to mindlessly accept cultural mores, but is rather a mandate to discover and manifest one's True Will, which he described as one's inner divine nature, spiritual destiny, or proper course in life. (Taken from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thelema

To me, that really doesn't sound like The Hymn of One.

If anyone has any questions about A. Crowley, Thelema, or the occult in general, feel free to contact me either on here or at my email. jazztuck@aol.com

Let's see:
1. Bankruptcy
2. Drug Addict
3. Prejudice
4. Non-believer of women's individuality
5. Known as "The Wickedest Man in the World"
6. Tortured (and killed) animals
7. Contractor of many STDs
8. Hypocrite (on all sorts of accounts)
9. Expulled from religions and countries.
10. Died alone

Yes I wanna be just like Aleister Crowley. (NOT)

Poor Mr. Crowley AL-ways being attacked. Ive yet to see any of his critiques compose as many profound books as he has.

Mr. Crowley, what went on in your head
Mr. Crowley, did you talk to the dead
Your lifestyle to me seemed so tragic
With the thrill of it all
You fooled all the people with magic
You waited on Satan's door

Mr. Charming, did you think you were pure
Mr. Alarming, in nocturnal rapport
Uncovering things that were sacred manifest on this earth
Conceived in the eye of a secret
Yeah, they scattered the afterbirth - yeah!

Solo

Mr. Crowley, won't you ride my white horse
Mr. Crowley, it's symbolic of course
Approaching a time that is classic
I hear that maidens call
Approaching a time that is drastic
Standing with their backs to the wall

Epilogue:
Was it polemically sent
I wanna know what you meant
I wanna know
I wanna know what you meant, yeah!

And who is to say that some of his critics are not published authors?
They were and are authors, actors, religious leaders, political figures, men and women of medicine, heads of mass companies, heads of household, the poorest in the harshest of countries, and the richest in the most powerful of countries.
