Alright I think it's done.
Code:
BFGBGFBGEAEABGCBEFBGCBEBBFGAEABGFBGEBEFBGCBGFBGD

Substitute for numbers with A=0, B=1, etc.:
Code:
156165164040162145162141156040165164145162165163

Octal ascii decodes to:
Quote:
nut reran uterus

It comes out like that, in lowercase. From wiki:
Quote:
Nut was the goddess of the sky and all heavenly bodies, a symbol of resurrection and rebirth.

Cue the archetypal allegory symbolism experts... Rolling Eyes

What you have discovered is indeed significant, and worthy of further consideration. There are multiplicities of meaning yet to be explored, however there is yet another permutation. You've made it this far, the next step won't be difficult.

Anagram?

Use a return turn?
A nuts untrue err?

Lol.

ETA:

Natures true urn!
Natures nurture
Turns are untrue

Actually, I have no idea what I'm looking for. Just throwing ideas out there.

A few other key words that show up in there:
(and I'll repeat some of the above, just so they're all in one place)

star
return
turn
seer
urn (as in grecian)
nature
nurture (these two make a great pair!)
true

I don't see where any of these might go, but hopefully it will jog someone else's vision.

I'd say "NATURE NURTURES" fits rather well.

Another one could be TRUE SATURN RUNE ()

In alchemy it's associated with lead. "Turn lead into gold..."

Yet another one: TAU RUNE RETURNS (reminds me of the tau-omicron from Tachyon's file).

Any chance those +'s and -'s might lend some insight? Do they align with certain characters post ascii conversion?

I tried a vigenere decode using TKKU as the key and it spits out garbage. Considering the letters we're given, it looks like an anagram to me.

I agree. An anagram is exactly like a permutation, the word Jay used for this last step. I hate anagrams!

Has anyone asked Jay for confirmation on the anagram?

Those appeal to my sense, too, especially NATURE NURTURES.

One more that has the right sensibility:

STAR UNTRUE RUNE

Wow! Tough puzzle, and great work!

I was figuring out the next steps as I read the thread, but you guys beat me to it, post after post.

I think that "nature nurtures" fits pretty well.

I know this isn't relevant at this point, but earlier today I send this thread to a friend of mine who works on genome sequencing. Here's what he found.

Quote:
For my own sake, it's probably not a good idea for me to get involved, but I couldn't resist playing around with the DNA sequence for a bit. Translating in all six frames didn't reveal anything interesting. Then I blasted it and found that the first 80-90% of it is highly similar (99% identical) to pieces of various cloning vector (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloning_vector) sequences. The top hit is "Expression vector pFerX8, complete sequence." with accession = "AY147930" and GI = "28192543". I had a couple of other potential leads from gene names that were also valid tinyurl codes (one of which led to a news article about some hackers in Florida (fbx09) and another that gave me a photo of a banquet table (pLM99)), but I think these are just coincidences.
