Should I be ranting not to make Charlie an Australian stereotype, a-la Steve Irwin? "Crikey!"

And it'll have to be Fosters, even though no one in Oz actually drinks it! I can't believe I forgot about shrimp on the barbie. (shrimp, wtf? they're prawns.) Crocodile Dundee, maybe? "That's not a knife, this is a knife!" And Rolf! Rolf Harris, master artist! Rolf left our shores many a year ago... I forgot that he's famous in the UK. 
Somehow, I can't really see Charlie in any of these stereotypes. Though now I'm kind of hoping for it!

Oh my. Sounds like this will be an education in itself. Exposure to BBC-America and PBS shows, along with novels (Martha Grimes, Agatha Christie, Ngaio Marsh, Dick Francis, etc.) and other movies/tv shows have built my impressions of the UK and Australia so maybe this series and your comments will straighten my impressions out. Can't help but relate to how frustrating national stereotypes are - Texans get that a lot, too.
