That's only because you are taught to speak like an American.

Which is ghey, if you ask me.
Actually over here they teach us british english! It's the media that had me get used to american...

My boyfriend's from Israel, so he was taught to speak like an American ... sort of ... and I get the impression from him that British English is difficult to understand because we leave off so many consonants. Especially if, like me, you don't speak in received pronunciation. Particularly confusing for him is the way we don't pronounce the letter r if it's at the end of a syllable. I love British English, though, it's so idiomatic and unpredictable. There's so many different kinds of English all over the country - dialects *and* sociolects - that have still gone unexplored by American treatment of British characters.

Well, for me it's a bit harder to understand, but mainly the first minute or so. I just have to switch over to the british accent and when I get used to it it's pretty easy. I've worked in a computer store for some time and had many british customers(sometimes it seems like we are invaded by the british Razz). I can understand them pretty well, but they always tell me that I have an american accent. I guess that's the con of the media age.

To get back to Kate, I've never really heard that exact dialect before. So it neede some getting used to. And she wasn't talking slow or articulated very well either. But luckilly I could understand her pretty easy.

Overall, it was a cool vid! I liked it alot.

Oh, sorry BrightSilence.

My sister teaches English in a foreign country and she's forced to teach American English.

I thought that was the case with you. Sorry.

I think it depends on the political allegiances and linguistic needs of the country. If a country has closer links to Britain than to America, surely it'll teach British english?

As far as I know the official world language is british english. I would have thought most countries would stick to that, but from what I see here, that's not the case.

I know I had points deducted from my oral exam for saying "fast" with an american accent. Luckilly it wasn't as bad as my classmate who actually said "when I came at school" during the exam Wink. I have no idea how the teacher managed to keep a straight face Razz

Possibly. But how do we 'send music'? I have loads of music I could send her, but I dunno.

And if this makes me sound stupid, I'm sorry. But how?

I seriously LOVE how interactive this is. I mean, LG is pretty fan-friendly (in terms of incorporation, etc.) but with Kate, I feel more connected. Using Bebo makes me feel like I'm really a part (albeit however small) of her world. Very cool. Very, very cool.

Yea, I was thinking the same thing.

plus her accent is gorgeous...

well... she seemed like a cool person and i loved her accent, but...

i was like "why is she moving around like that? wtf? chill out." it was really weird. and i really hope that scarf thing wasnt a wannabe pink boa.

well, lets see what the next vid looks like.

oh also... maybe the "please send me music" thing was the explanation on why she will have weird (relatively unknown) music in future videos.
