I don't know if this means anything or not, but being from Chicago, it hit me immediately...

Clowns are associated with the serial killer John Wayne Gacy, who played a clown at kids parties while killing young men in his free time: 31 bodies were pulled from under his house. While in prison after his conviction, Gacy made paintings, most notably, of clowns, to sell and make money off of. The legislature put a stop to it.

It might not have any relevance, but just in case...

i live across the street from where john wayne gacy grew up and about 5 min from where they found all the bodies...i hope this doesnt turn into a JWG themed thing...i feel safer having it b an LA/manson far from me thing lol

then the clown there was a clown in pultergist
then the ritual maybe has to do with that
also franks bottle of jack DANEILS says 4th 981 next to a holy bible
also franks possesed right
maybe by a demon not cassie
also 4th and 981 is in california and so is angeles national forest where the first clue was

So here is a theory, maybe this is in the wrong section, but i am gonna go with it.

What if Frank, was asleep, or whatever and cassie was in control. Then when he awoke, and became Frank again. That he realised that he had put something out there and decide to go and try to track down the clue or whatever it may have been. I know someone said they thought maybe someone else beat Roi to it. Apparently Roi, had spent the better part of the day searching and found nothing So what if, maybe thats what he meant by, trying to figure it out. That he would go back to where he felt she had led him. I dont know just a thought. Figured it wouldnt hurt to throw it out there
