I never had that close of a relationship with boys when I was younger. Sure, I had friends who were boys but we never were allowed to hang out in that way. I really feel I've missed so much from that deprivation. Also, my parents were uber-strict and never let me have or attend sleepovers when I was younger. I know that affected me greatly because, when I first moved out, I was terrified to live on my own. I was so sheltered that I couldn't place myself anywhere but under my parents' roof.
But now I took us off tangent...

I'm so glad you understand what I was trying to say. I was typing it thinking I sounded like someone who was either very sexually active in high school (uhm, not even close, I didn't even get my first REAL kiss til senior year, and I was drunk at the time!) or who was embarassed about how they used to act, where it really was neither.
Aww, that's too bad honey. I would let you come over for a sleepover! My house was always the sleepover house. We were one of the few families in town (lived in a kinda rural area) and we had a big house while my parents were still together. And they never had a problem with guys spending the night. I remember my ex had a HUGE problem with one of my guy friends because we were so affectionate and he didn't understand. Granted, right after we broke up I found out that this guy had had a big crush on me and he started trying to make something of it, so maybe he picked up on that rather than the affectionate thing.
So I'm sure your parents would have freaked if they knew that you were sleeping in a bed with one of your female friends with a guy between you two, huh? That was a typical sleepover at my place, we'd all get on the futon and cuddle up, it was that way since 6th grade and continued through high school. Heck, sometimes when I go back to my old hometown it goes right back into us holding each other without giving it a second thought. (Which is wierd, to see someone you haven't seen in three years or so and within ten minutes they have their arms around your waist and their head on your shoulder. If it was anyone but these friends I'd flip!)
It's amazing the things you give up by growing older and becoming sexualized in our culture, because all of a sudden everything you do when it comes to affection is about getting some. At least according to other people. *sigh*
So how long ago did you move out? You still feel a little wierd living alone?

The Party Thread cannot and will not be replaced by a new forum or thread. My hope is that those who were here longer (mostly the Originals) will have a greater understanding of the circumstances presenting themselves.
There isn't a substitute. Just because another forum was created doesn't mean this one is disavowed or hopeless.
