This is more than likely off the topic of the puzzle....but I'm not sure where to put it. This morning I found the following video:

Because of the codes, I assume it is part of the ARG somehow, right? Perhaps not? At any rate, the people in the background...there is someone behind the tree and they appear to be arguing perhaps.
And what's up with the symbol? |

looks like someone is playing the game in character as a fan. I don't think its a gamejack or a seperate arg. Just looks like a message to bree. And The reversed watcher symbol reminds me of "who is watching the watchers,"

The second part decodes to "A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals and youknowit." a quote from Men in Black. Not sure if it is related to this though. |

It showed up around the same time and has codes in it. It is reasonable to ask if it is related or not. Is it related to this puzzle? I'm guessing not...but I think it's a bit nasty to simply tell us to stay on topic when we're tying to determine if it is on topic or not. This is especially true with them both having movie references.

That's totally fair! As a "newbie" that should be a bit more clear...I've spent days reading about the ARG here and I'm still confused, and when you add the fan creations/spinoffs, it all starts mushing together. |

THe only thing I have to say about these comments is the following:
We should stop assuming everything is a gamejack...because everything isn't. The creators have asked us to play along. Theyhave asked us to make fanfiction videos.
Those videos, because OpAphid has become cannon, would also be OpAphid themed.
So my response to all people calling ANYTHING gamejacking now, is stop eing hypocritical. And find another name. I know gamejacking is the common name for ARGs but....this is NOT your common ARG

That's what I'm sayin'! How confusing for a newbie to ARGs. There's so many interwoven things going on here that it is really hard to know what is officially "in game" or not. Jonas, at first, just appeared to be another (albeit well done) fan video...but now we know differently.
Thanks for splitting this into a new thread. I didn't want to create it myself and get into trouble. 
Seriously, I've been reading around for many days before deciding to jump in on today's puzzle. I'm still totally confused. |

Hey kiddies --
I'm all for fanfiction and good stuph like that (and I think KillTheSmiley is right -- to lump all of them together has 'game jacking' does not really apply in this situation) Buuuutttt .....
Until we confirm that a player is actually part of the interwoven storyline, maybe we should keep stuff like this in the fanfiction section? What do ya'all think?
I won't move it if you guys don't want me to, but Coved also makes a very good point -- intermingling THIS information with OpAphid information might get confusing.

I think that's a good happy medium, actually.
Though I do have a newb request. How do we know something is official or not? Is there some kind of handy reference or cheat sheet? Yes, I know we have the lgpedia...but even that can be overwhelming.
Or, perhaps we have one thread to be used to determin if thigns are officially in game or not? That would be helpful. Honestly, I saw this video today and immediately thought it could be related because of the codes. |

Romance is working on the mother of all FAQs and that will have an index of all in game youtubes and phone numbers. I belive there is a list in the FAQ as it stands too. |
