Talks about the Creators wooing production company, possible product placement, the 350,000 "visitors" the chat brought in, and a possible video contest. |

Are you talking about the article, or about how the Creators seem to be telling untruths about the numbers in the chat?
(I posted the article here before the one posted in complaints) |

Here's the article: ClickZ News
It was pointed out numerous times in this thread and other places that this number was not even remotely accurate. The site did not have 350,000 unique visitors. The video in which the chat was announced had not even been viewed 1/2 that many times -- there was no way 350,000 people knew.
And yet although this number was exposed as inaccurate it was nevertheless presented as part of an advertising pitch? This seems like a flagrant lie, or even fraud. And if you're going to lie, at least know how to back it up.
There's a Web site called Alexa that tracks traffic at Web sites. Alexa exposes 350,000 unique visitors for the complete lie that it is.
Alexa rankings for lonelygirl15.com
Alexa reveals the truth -- that the amount of traffic at the site the day of Breechat was not even double the typical traffic -- and not even close to 350,000 people. |

Yes, it's obvious that the Creators are "padding" the numbers for attention. |

It doesnt bother me.. I could care less what they do, as long as the videos keep coming out. And the fans keep rolling in. If padding numbers creates a stir and thus creates more fans.. Well.. Im ok with that. _________________ Im sorry; you must have mistaken me for someone else. My name is Anastasia Beaverhousen.

Quite honestly, I don't care either.
I just like posting the news. |

We apologize for that. The statment was innacurate, but not intentional on our part. We were under the impression that those numbers were correct based on processor load, but we later learned that the unique visitor counts were lower. Nonetheless, if you include YouTube, those numbers are accurate. |

I think it's a shame that when the whole advert for lonelygirl15. com instead of a video thing happened, it didn't work out. the reaction was ridiculous in my opinion, i mean if a movie trailer is posted there you don't see everyone moaning that its not the whole film do you? All they had to do was go to another website. I personally think they should find a way of coming off youtube (or at least prolonging the delay). people who wanted to watch would eventually find their way here. Especially now the whole fake thing has finished and the haters have calmed down
I'm a big youtube fan but sometimes i think the community there is so
stupid and reactionary it's a joke. |
