Can we please ban this FFFIIRRSTT!! nonsense? It's annoying and clutters up the main page (as well as other places). No, it's not funny or even cute. It's not a badge of honor. It just show a lack of maturity. Nobody cares if you're the first to comment or not.

Can we please delete that stuff? It's of no benefit, and I refuse to even read the main page comments because of it. Plus, all of that extraneous crap slows the page down. Trust me, when one is downloading on a handheld PDA, all that extra crap makes a big difference.

I agree wholeheartedly with bethy. "First" crap cannot be eliminated completely, but it is getting out of hand. Let there be one "first" post, let the mods cleanup the rest? The winner wins, the losers don't need recognition.

I will add that "first" was not an original tradition on these forums. Even though its typical on youtube, it took some time to infect this board.

I wish I had some thoughtful response to make about the general direction of this community's comments. I guess forums and other place where people can post their ideas fall under the "squeaky wheel syndrome." The "loudest" comments and the most abundant commentors seem to hold sway regardless of substance. Hopefully soon, we'll see a twelve pages of thoughtful ideas, comments and research. Some comments here can easily be brought up in the "Off the Cuff" area. As for the front page, I wonder why the first person who posts doesn't post an idea or two about the video. Please don't think I'm being judgemental and sometimes I am the first one to admit that I add stupid ideas or comments. It just gets trying if one really wants to discuss the storyline (as it has been improving).

blah...blah...blah...i'm such a nagging, buzz-killer...

They are annoying and they are multiple. I just don't even bother reading the comments on the main page, instead i just put down my input in the forums. It'd be great if the mods could delete those responses, but there are so many of them that it would take too much work.

For real it is not even worth your time to read the comments under the videos. All you will see is FIRRRRRRRRRSTTTTTTT111111 80% of the page. Just do what i do and replace FIRSTTTTTTTTTT11 with MORON!! in your mind and read no further. Ah brightens my day everytime! Laughing

honestly i think it would be better if there wasn't comments on the main page at all, it isn't needed there's a forum for commenting on video's, it would probably increase forum activity and participation, there's enough places to discuss and comment on these video's the front page loads slow enough as it is, why not just remove the comments and redirect them to the forum, they surely won't be saying firstttttttttt111111111!!!!! over here
