Wow. If nobody said anything I wouldn't have known her.

I'm sorry, but how is the SECOND place winner of a reality show a major celebrity? All those people from AI come out with albums...and their popularity fades when the new season starts. Can't blame this gal for wanting a back up experience in acting.

Okay, whatever, I'm sorry I upset people.

I was excited to share some good news about the series, and I was stunned and disappointed that this got such a bad reaction.

Let's get back on topic -- this thread isn't about how JayHank is a dick -- it's about the appearance of a really cool guest star appearing on the show.

McPhee is a fan too, and just because she's successful doesn't mean we should scorn her. She asked if she could help the show out. The Creators said "yeah." Beat up on me all you want, but there's no reason to beat up on McPhee or The Creators.

It's really cool that somebody that famous is a big fan too.

I agree Kas, it seems to me like they needed someone to try and boost their ratings and viewership and she agreed to do it for free. As for her being a huge fan, I don't buy it. Call me cynical and bitchy, I don't care. I'm not that impressed with the whole situation. And now, I'm done complaining about it.

But the garage where Bree's dad was shot (well, where it was filmed) is within...well less than a 1/4 mile from both Katharine McPhee's house, and where she went to high school in Sherman Oaks.

i agree with killthesmiley.
part of this being the type of story it has been so far, was throwing in the idea that it was really happening. i know people are saying "this is fake and has always been so" i understand that. but a major difference between this and a work of fiction is that the fiction is read or watchded, KNOWing that its fiction. this is watched ACTing like its real. there is a major difference. while we know they are actors, the story has been presented in a way that tells us it is really goin on.

i didnt know who the girl even was before this thread, and i dont care that they used a celeb. i only am steamed cuz now i know when and how its gonna happen before i want to know. and even the name of the vid, promting even more outlandish speculation.... sheesh Brick wall

another thing i'm a little mifted about is the "shes a fan"argument...

does that mean we all have the opportunity to make cameo's if we're in the area???
If so...man....i know a bunch of people who definately deserve a cameo (cough cough the OpAphid drop retrival crew)(and we all want T-dubb to get a cameo)

Why are people upset about this? I really don't get it. This is a FICTIONAL story with actors. It's a show. Yes, it's interactive...but so is LOST on ABC. It's a fairly new medium, but interactivity doesn't make it real...LG15 has always been a work of fiction.

Katharine McPhee is a trained actress and a half decent singer with an album to promote. This is really quite genious because the American Idol fanbase is HUGE. Her appearance will bring lots of new viewers.
