If you haven’t been following, it’s not too late to catch up.
“Traveler J” has posted a series of videos on YT offering an archival, behind the scenes look at the Orders activities in genetic research.
You can view them here: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=TravelerJ19

The Traveler J YT account has the following description:
OP HAD PATENT, HEW "the J Nineteen." – which anagrams to
"What happened to the J Nineteen"
imagin wrote:
One potential anagram is WHAT HAPPENED TO, which would make it be,

"What happened to the J Nineteen"

and that leads me to ponder... perhaps nineteen girls from J facility? Perhaps the J stands for juvenile?

The most recent video “Catalyst (A Call to Action)” had codon and call as two of the tags. It also contained a morse code message at the end of the video.

The code was determined to be a phone number.

I called the number - it is a message about the production of vials of something. This is what I've got so far:

"You have been sucessful thus far. It seems that after all these years we may have finally found someone with whom we can work. Only a limited number of vials were ever produced and time is of the essence; however, space is not. *_______* *_______* to continue."

I am missing two words.

"Find mind"?
"Fine mind"?
"Find mine"?

The missing words were determined to be “find mine” – as in “find MySpace”
WonkaNerdsRule wrote:
Folks, it's "mine". He wants you to find his space, aka, his myspace, which is here: http://www.myspace.com/TravelerJ19

In order to be his friend, which is the next step, you have to figure out his last name. I already tried the obvious RNA base pair thing, as well as Caesar ciphers, so it's something more complicated than that.

The following sequence shows how the last name was determined and it’s link to the “codon” tag.
McPackage wrote:
The last name is a set of 3 codon codes, which you can look up at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genetic_code . AUGGUAUAA translates to amino acid names as follows:

Quote:

AUG = START
GUA = valine
UAA = END

The answer is Valine. Using this as the last name allows you to submit the MySpace friend request.

Once added as a friend, the following message can be seen on TravelerJ19's MySpace page:

The quote is from James Joyce, and reminds me of another James Joyce quote from the "Set Of Five" puzzle: "Mistakes are the portals to discovery."

Translate from hex to ascii, and you get the following message:

Quote:

Welcome, friend. There comes a point in every relationship where the bond must either strengthen or dissipate. That point is now. What I need from you is GCU1 CCU1UUU2GGU3UCU1AUU1UGU1GUU2AUU4 CUC1CCU3UGC1GUC2ACA1AGA4CCU3CUG6 UAU1CCU3 UCG1UUC2AAA4CCA1 AAU1 UUC1AUU1ACC3UGC1UCC2UUA1. It is essential that the necessary steps are taken upon receipt. Respond to my Youtube account with the information requested. Priority will be given to the first responder, and all sensitive information will be quickly erased as data holding facilities seem to be especially susceptible these days. Good luck to us all.

Now, back to codon codes. This time, the numbers correspond to the letter in the codon code's corresponding amino acid.

Quote:

GCU1 = alanine

CCU1 = proline
UUU2 = phenylalanine
GGU3 = glycine
UCU1 = serine
AUU1 = isoleucine
UGU1 = cysteine
GUU2 = valine
AUU4 = isoleucine

CUC1 = leucine
CCU3 = proline
UGC1 = cysteine
GUC2 = valine
ACA1 = threonine
AGA4 = arginine
CCU3 = proline
CUG6 = leucine

UAU1 = tyrosine
CCU3 = proline

UCG1 = serine
UUC2 = phenylalanine
AAA4 = lysine
CCA1 = proline

AAU1 = asparagine

UUC1 = phenylalanine
AUU1 = asparagine
ACC3 = threonine
UGC1 = cysteine
UCC2 = serine
UUA1 = leucine

So, the request is:

Quote:

What I need from you is a physical location to send a parcel.

I send my mailing address to TravelerJ19's YouTube account. The response I got was:

Quote:

Well done. Based on your work thus far, I am confident that you will be able to perform the task at hand.

I'm assuming that means I was first and should therefore expect something to arrive in the mail.

Now we wait for McPackage to receive the parcel.

More on "J19 - OPA Valine"

shaydaims wrote:

This is a direct reference to ISOMER J19 - Known as OPA VALINE!

OPA, Valine, J19 .... I'm jumping on this fast.

Notice the OPA at the end of every J19 video. There's more info about this isomer. I know it's meant to imply a link to OpAphid... but this may be the link!

After talking privately with a forum member, I feel the following warning is warranted:

DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION TO UNKNOWN PERSONS

If you are asked to give an address for parcel delivery, use a mail drop address or let another player do it.

A very smart thing to do. You played it perfectly.
I want to be sure that everyone is safe – especially the younger players. It’s our responsibility as a community to make sure no one puts himself or herself in jeopardy.

Now we wait to see what you receive.

Perhaps it's the parcel sent to McPackage with the expected arrival dates. 02/07 - 02/08.

Should we be checking this image with Steganography?

http://lonelygirl15.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5807

I don't know how to do it, and don't have time to go up the learing curve right now, but I think it would be interesting to try it.

I hope not. There are so many stego tools out there and many of them don't cross reference very well. Without the right one, we could be staring at that image forever.

This link from the OpAphid thread points to some specific tools.

http://lifehacker.com/software/privacy/geek-to-live--hide-data-in-files-with-easy-steganography-tools-230915.php

I wonder if this is just from a member who is offering a suggestion, or if it might be from someone dropping a hint from the PM's for how to play the game? And if it ends up that it applies in the canon OpAphid ARG, would it neccessarily also apply to the fan fic TravelerJ19?
It makes me wonder.
