There has been a lot of activity in the last 30 days or so on Brother's voicemail (310)933-5901. Just so we are prepared, IF it becomes a part of something bigger, I have gathered them here. I will post the artist name, song name, album name, and the lyrics to the song. The actual portions used in the VM are in bold. Any further Brother VMs should also be posted here, for the time being anyway Smile

Maybe his failure is in failing to keep up with Bree et al, rather than something to do with Gemma. Seems more likely to me.

I mean, their (Bree, DB, and Jonas's) situation has gone to crap since Brother started getting sassy. All "I can handle this" and whatnot.

Maybe he wasn't supposed to post the vids to Gemma's account? He did it while Tach was already out of the country.

I just think there's a lot of other possible failures other than not killing Gemma. If he hadn't killed her and didn't make it obvious he hadn't, that would kind of be the ultimate betrayal of all time. Tach could never ever work with him again. And it would certainly merit more apology than emo song messages.

Maybe he was supposed to post something (maybe for us) and he forgot/messed up....

I'm more inclined to believe that the whole "Fiji" thing is just Brother's cover for why he and Tachyon aren't talking anymore. After all, he doesn't want us to know that they're on the outs, but he has to give a reason for her sudden silence.

Cynicar, Tachyon hasn't spoken to Brother -- or to anyone -- since Gemma's alleged death. Brother's VMs are getting increasingly desperate. He's had to make up a fictional trip to Fiji ("our friends at 5?" Since when have Brother and Tachyon had friends?) to cover. It looks pretty serious to me.

If he didn't kill Gemma it reeks of some sort of reverse snow white. The happy hunter falls in love with the beautiful girl and can't bear to kill her. heh.

If Brother didn't kill Gemma then he will have to die at Tachyon's hands. She would have to do this before any further action can be taken against OpAphid.

Here's something else I've been thinking about...

So...is Brother asking someone to call him? And if so, who? I'm inclined to think Tachyon, of course, because all the VMs have been for her so far, and because Tachyon is known for her "calling card." But if Tachyon is the desired caller, it doesn't explain the second line--"are you in or are you out?" I know it's from a song not written by Brother (obviously), but that is too deliberate a line to mean nothing. Does Brother have a plan that Tachyon wasn't sure about? Or is Brother trying to contact someone else...someone who might not be fully recruited to his cause yet?

Either way, if these two line segments go together, Brother's given the signal that the time is right...and we DID just get a new VM #...

Note: All of this may mean nothing, but there are so many coincidences here I cannot be sure.

I think line by line analysis is a little dangerous in the case of the VM's. There's a lot of double messages that one can pull out of any and all of the songs he's chosen that probably result from the fact that most are love songs not "assasination and covert behavior" songs.

Here's how I'm breaking down the chain:
A Favor from the House Atlantic: Way to set up Gemma. I'll call you when the job is done.
Get Me Away From Here: Gemma = Dead. I'm somewhat nostalgic and thoughtful over this.
I Was a Prayer: I am dissenting over something. Your plan = Crap, Tach.
Long Way Down: I messed up. Can you help me out though?
Cold Enough to Break: Ok, seriously. Everything has gone to hell in a handbasket and it's all my fault for not listening to you. PLEASE HELP.

This sounds like the most likely sequence of events so far. We haven't been given any absolutes either way on Gemma's status, so it would be safer to assume that things went according to plan there. OR...maybe something regarding the assassination went wrong. Someone found out, someone was there (possibly warpylol?), and now has Brother's ID confirmed? OR, maybe it *is* referring to Brother deciding not to kill Gemma, and THAT is what he messed up with. He could be admitting that she was right all along, and leaving Gemma alive has cost him dearly.

So, let's say that there are three possibilities (for the sake of argument):

1. Gemma = hot, buttery toast, but Brother and Tach have had a difference of opinion regarding something else Brother realizes Tach is right, and needs her help.

2. Gemma may or may not be offed, but either way someone witnessed the attempt or found out some other way, and Brother is in it deep. Cover is compromised, critical danger, etc.

3. Brother spared Gemma, and now he's REALLY paying for it.

Yeah - def. sequence of events cynicar

also if you think about how his YouTube song lyric postings work in that fashion as well. They mark major milestones (i believe this is the order they were "supposedly" insinuating (looks like a reupload, all at once - I thought they were uploaded earlier than november initially):

321 Contact (Rocket/Smashing Pumpkins): I'm here (not thrilled about being on another one of these soul-sucking missions, but here)

Sparks are Flying (Pressure/Bowie & Queen): Things are starting, she's interested, I'm in (this is intense)

Misdirected: Lost Visual in the Burnout (Without a Trace/Soul Asylum): Cover is Blown I'm leaving (and no one can know - need help covering tracks)


It's almost like the titles are the message, but the songs are the "feelings" he's trying to get across to his partner (Tach in this case).
