Ok, So, I had a good valentines day with my husband. And I hope that you all did, too.

But with my computer was a different story.

I accidentally d/led a trojan from E-Mule. I usually scan all my files before I unzip them. But in this case, I was in a hurry. I was trying to d/l Garageband Jampack, so I could mute the vocals in a song for my vlog

. In the process I clicked the file. "Garageband 1.0.001" Or something like that. Uzipped it. When I clicked the icon, a box came up that said, "Select files to crack. Must be an .exe" So at first I was thinking

"This isn't right." So I clicked a TXT file. It said "Error, File Not Supported" And then it started d/ling all these random files by itself. Then it started sending 100's of random bogus e-mails.

Random DCHP piongs to my ISP. And deleted all of my McAfee Security and SpyBot, TrojanHunter, HijackThis, etc... files. So I was really pissed off Vday morning.

Why I didn't scan the mothereffin file, I have no idea.

I always scan, I remember when I was younger and would send malware and spyware and keyloggers to my friends. I thought it was sooo funny.

HA... HA... HA... HA...

it's so not funny.

That was when I was much younger tho. I've outgrew that H4X0R

phase.

So, to clean it up, I turned off Sys Restore(So it couldn't re-d/l itself), I d/led KillBox

and deleted the M_Hook.sys files and the HIDIRS file folders. I set it to "Delete On Reboot" I then deleted the Registry subkeys and folders: FirstRRRRun and HLDRRR.EXE. Then I rebooted. And Viola. Ran a scans, searched folders. I think it's gone. Smile

It just took all effin day. Literally, I worked on it till my husband came home from work!

Trojans like this are virtually invisible.

If your virus scan hasn't picked up on this hidden trojan, you can press CTRL+ATL+DEL and click Task Manager. If you see a random file such as hldrrr.exe or multiple IEXPLORE.EXE files, you could have a trojan. I suggest running a few scans. You can use a good online scanner, and manually delete the files yourself.

That saves you hundreds of Dollars. Smile

If you are ever suspicious of an EXE file running in your Task Manager, don't end it until you put the whole name.EXE in Googles search box. Google will defintley tell you if it's a trojan or not.

Dude, I'm so sorry you had to spend ALL day doing that. But luckily you had the know-how to handle it and fix it!
