Sorta kinda. It's She-Ra, Adam's (He-Man) twin sister Adora.  I guess you could call her the female character, though she had her own spinoff series. I would think that the main female character from the He-Man side would be Teela:

Mirage, when I was little I totally had a She-Ra birthday party at an ice cream parlor. My mom hired a She-Ra to come to it. It pwned.

Jealous!! She-Ra CAME to your birthday? You must be 3 steps from famous. Did she have the sword and everything?
I have many pictures of me as a kid dressed up in a plastic She-Ra mask/sword/shield/belt getup. I wanted to be her.  |

LOVED Jem also. I liked how if you bought the dolls you got a tape of songs too. Storm from the Misfits (the one with the curly blue hair) was always my favourite.  |

I swear on my life and all things holy I went as Storm for halloween a couple years ago. (I was at a party that was a "mis-pageant" so you had to be a mis-something)
