Mod Note: As per our tradition, I am hijacking this post to store all of the facts or useful information we have discovered so far, so that it's easier to follow along with the puzzle if you have to do something like sleep or go to work. Sapere is innocent of any of this business, and is merely a helpless bystander. Thanks! -tilting

Earlier today, a new video entitled “Jonas Sucks” appeared on the website. In it, Daniel discovers a strange package in Jonas’ car, with a note from Tachyon:
Quote:
where it all started
the answer is before you
a subtle clue I Drew

xoxox,
T

y y y

It has been noted that the “haiku” above is actually a false haiku. A true haiku has a certain number of syllables in each line; the pattern is 5/7/5. This note has a syllabic pattern of 5/7/6.

There is also a theory that the X’s and y’s in the note are part of an XX/Xy puzzle. There are 11 X’s and 3 y’s.

Haiku backwards is Ukiah.

The package contained at least three Nancy Drew books:

The Clue in the Diary #7
The Quest of the Missing Map #19
The Secret of the Forgotten City #52

The Tachyon note indicated to some of us that we should look back at the Nancy Drew drop from so many months ago, linked here:
http://lonelygirl15.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2893&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=45
and here:
http://www.lonelygirl15.com/lgpedia/index.php?title=Drop_3_%28The_Tachyon_Mystery_Stories%29

The quotes taken from the books in Daniel’s package that were marked by Tachyon in her book from the drop are as follows:
Quote:
Pg 24:
"Always lock your car doors. Even if there is nothing in the vehicle to take, a devilish person can always put something harmful into the car."
(this passage was marked with a small dot next to it)
[The Secret of the Forgotten City]

Pg 44:
"If you suspect an important message or map will be pilfered, make a copy and alter the facts to throw creeps off the trail. Or make a copy and send the original to a close friend for safekeeping."
(this passage was marked with a small dot next to it)
[The Quest of the Missing Map]

Pg 84:
"When witnessing a massive fire, take careful note of shifts in the wind's direction."
(this passage was marked with a small dot next to it)
[The Clue in the Diary]

Pg 117:
Doodling as a child might be a sign of artistic aptitude and a promising career."
(this passage was marked with a small dot next to it)
[The Quest of the Missing Map]

Pg 140:
"Use protective eyewear when chiseling stone."
(this passage was marked with a small dot next to it)
[The Secret of the Forgotten City]

Here is the note Tachyon left with her original Nancy Drew Drop:
Quote:
My father gave me all of
these when I was a
little girl, but they got
left behind when we moved.
The knowlege has always
served me well, so I
thought this might teach
you a thing or two.
XOXO
T

That’s all for now. Look for this to be updated as we progress.

Looks like a puzzle in this one!

Yeah, puzzle... *copies down the notecard from the video exactly*

Can someone link the thread with the Nancy Drew Survival Guide clue from way back? I don't even know where to start looking for that, but it's totally relevant.

Only one problem with that... the final two words "I Drew" were capitalized.

It's gonna be important... especially since Nancy Drew books were the contents of the package.

There are 11 X's and 3 y's. (Could they refer to syllables or letters?)

Haiku has 17 syllables, usually divided into lines of 5/7/5. For more info on haiku, here's a link:

11 x's, 3 y's. hmm...

The Nancy Drew book with subtle marks was from the Golden Gate Park drop in San Francisco.

There was a .rar file named "TAKE WARNING" (in hex, pwd was GPS).
Inside, 5 photos of Daniel watching the fake ceremony and a text file named "GRIGORI" with "ACT TWO WHET HARSH ESCHEW" which anagrams to "WHO WATCHES THE WATCHERS".

There was also the postcard with I AM vertically and WAITINGFOR... horizontally (in hex, written like a crossword).

The book of quotes from Nancy Drew Mysteries had a post-it note hidden on the sleeve. It said:

Quote:
My father gave me all of
these when I was a
little girl, but they got
left behind when we moved.
The knowlege has always
served me well, so I
thought this might teach
you a thing or two.
XOXO
T

Could "the answer is before you" refer to these photos of Daniel? Or rather, "before" this photos? Could this whole drop be "where it all started"?

Could the password for Bree's SD card be something from that book (notice she wrote "a subtle clue I Drew" with the D capitalized like that), or either of the file names, the anagram, the postcard, or the post-it note?

Found this interesting, from the old tach drop one of the notes was:

"Always lock your car doors. Even if there is nothing in the vehicle to take, a devilish person can always put something harmful into the car."
[The Secret of the Forgotten City]

This was one of the books in the package annnnd the package was left in their car. Important? maybe not. but certainly caught my eye!

Does it say yours, T or her usual xoxox, T? At first sight I thought it was yours but then I tried to look more carefully and saw xoxox which seemed more in T's style.

The little hex crossword in the postcard from that drop:

Code:
   49
   20
57 41 49 54 49 4e 47 46 4f 52 2e 2e 2e
   4d

Excluding the 2e 2e 2e at the end (which decode to ...) and counting the 41 in the intersection twice, there are 11 purely numerical hex characters (XX) and 3 which combine a number and a letter (Xy). Could these be what she's pointing at with the 11 X's and 3 y's? Another XX/Xy puzzle?

it says xoxox D...

this is interesting. I'm taking it more so it for us to look at the drop before Golden Gates, but I also feel like she is setting out steps for us once again (just like out step puzzle and our x/y puzzle). I think we shall be watching DB very closely now to figure out what he's come up with from the novels. Hopefully there are markings on them just like the first nancy drew book we've recieved.
Also, any of the quotes we recieved in the original nancy drew drop from those three books??? That may lead us to more clues that may help with the x/y's

Oh nice catch. That must be important. I doubt it's an accident that the Haiku has an extra syllable.

"where it all started"
and the strange capitalization of "I Drew"
the 2 capitalized words are ID
... as in Identification

maybe "where it all started" refers to the birthplace on Daniel's fake ID
