I was thinking we may be able to help "seperate the sides" some time if we make some kind of DUAL DROP...

Op wants it... Tachy wants it... It's like a big scanvanger hunt to see who can get there first and who ever gets it (Op or Tach) will actually effect the storyline! Shocked

It could foster animosity, yes, but if it was done right, it could be fun - I like the idea of it have some effect on the storyline...

So...let's done our aluminium-lined thinking caps and see if we can figure out a way to do it without it working its way into something ugly. If we can't, then it's no great loss...

Cuz, we'll keep looking at other ways we can pass along to the newguy(s) to (potentially) spice things up! <beaming grin>

Seriously though, the coordination of the 2 groups and the fact that some people get WAY too fired up could lead to many, many more flame wars.

chershaytoute, those are all things I agree with, too. Well almost all. It's no secret that I've got issues with the way some of the moderating was done. Not everybody experienced the same things. But, apparently, those people have left. I'm not 100% convinced of that, but that's what they claim.

I just would add that any new moderators to the forum (since it seems we'll need a whole new batch of them now) not be players or participants in the game itself. They should be more like referees or line judges. Follow the game? yes...know what's happening? yes. But don't actively participate in game play. Does that make any sense?

sc, thanks for finding that image of the 10 Commandments of ARGs. I've been looking for it for 2 days now. I was at unfiction and kept looking and got kinda frustrated that I kept missing it. Now that I know where it was, I'm embarrassed...it's like trying to find your glasses...when they're on your head the whole time.

For those that can't read that image (that font is tough on the eyes)...it really is true and important to a successful ARG:

I think that the choosing of moderators should be completely left up to BK, the existing mods and the Creators.

I think that its fine to make recommendations and to say that you think someone should be considered, but other then that, we really should have no input.

It would add a whole new dimension to the game, to be sure. The existence of double agents would add a level of realism as well. But with the overall anonymous nature of the Internet makes it too easy for people to subvert a game of that nature into something that's no longer fun for anyone but those who get off on causing trouble.
