Wow, impressive work, iMouse!
It almost feels like we're lacking some kind of information here, though... |

Not sure what you mean here - How did you try applying ikoy? Don't worry, you can explain after you've had some sleep, and your head doesn't hurt anymore _________________ You made a wise choice, Bree.

Notice the 4 1 8 4 1 8 in the decoding numbers... remember the 00418 tag? There's definitely somthing about 418. I'm getting nowhere with this. Sorry. |

Sleep good. Need coffee.
I just applied the same analysis I did here to {I,K,O,Y} instead of {A,C,G,T}. _________________ Facility J: Will the last disgruntled employee to leave please destroy The Cure? |

A random thought. We have 24 letters of ciphertext and six shifts. Perhaps we're meant to be grouping the ciphertext into blocks of four letters, and using those to generate codons?
Code: | ijoo pyaa ttzb qkip yerg gjqa |
Not that I have a great idea how to turn "ijoo" into a 3-letter {A,C,G,T} sequence. _________________ Facility J: Will the last disgruntled employee to leave please destroy The Cure? |

Ahh, got it. Good thinking ! (sorry it didn't go anywhere
Musique and I worked on a few things last night - mostly guessing games that didn't go anywhere, but she knows how to do a vigenere decryption now
And Deag - Interesting about 418. Wonder what's so special about that number? _________________ You made a wise choice, Bree.

I think it's important to attack these problems from (at least) two sides: using the provided clues to find candidate passwords, and wacky cryptanalysis. Like TOSG said, I think we're missing something right now. Not sure what it is, though, if I knew what it was, then it wouldn't be missing! _________________ Facility J: Will the last disgruntled employee to leave please destroy The Cure? |

418 is the number of Abrahadabra.
Quote: | Gematria
As with most things found in the mystical works of Aleister Crowley, the word Abrahadabra can be examined using the qabalistic method of gematria, which is a form of numerology, whereby correspondences are made based on numerical values.
* ABRAHADABRA = 418
* ABRAHADABRA has 11 letters
* ABRAHADABRA = 1+2+2+1+5+1+4+1+2+2+1 = 22
* Te five letters in the word are: A, the Crown; B, the Wand; D, the Cup; H, the Sword; R, the Rosy Cross; and refer further to Amoun the Father, Thoth His messenger, and Isis, Horus, Osiris, the divine-human triad.
* Also 418 = ATh IAV, the Essence of IAO
* 418= BVLShKIN, or Boleskine
* 418= RA HVVR, or Ra Hoor
* 418= ∑(13-31)
* Abrahadabra is from Abrasax, Father Sun, which = 365 [5]
* 418 = 22 x 19 Manifestation
Other interpretations
In Aramaic this word roughly translates into "I will create as I speak."
* Had is the keyword of Abrahadabra. Had is another name for Hadit, the second Speaker in Liber Legis.
* "ABRAHADABRA is "The key of the rituals" because it expresses the Magical Formulae of uniting various complementary ideas; especially the Five of the Microcosm with the Six of the Macrocosm." [1]
* "Abrahadabra is the glyph of the blending of the 5 and the 6, the Rose and the Cross." [2]

This looks like your line of expertise. All the Crowley stuff really makes me standoffish. |

I was going to suggest trying to use Star as a pass key, but it looks like deagol actually found something.

I also don't like researching into the Crowley/Thelema stuff. It's all nonsense to me!
Though I decided to take a look by Googling "star 418" and here is what I found:
http://www.hermetic.com/crowley/libers/Liber570.pdf
According to this site, it is " An account of the Hexagram and the method of reducing it to the Unity, and Beyond."
An excerpt:
Quote: | 11. Also I welded together the Flaming Star and the
Sixfold Star in the forge of my soul, and behold! a new star
418 that is above all these. |
The number "418" is mentioned 7 times in this little document, but I cannot understand ANY of it.
Sorry if this doesn't help at all. |

I have a theory on the Crowley stuff. Hear me out -
When this puzzle first began, it was designed to tie into OpAphid - the XX/XY puzzle was happening, the ring decoder had been constructed (which correct me if I'm wrong here, but it would have been handy for solving the vigenere puzzles) OpAphid was in the video tags, and the name of the organization behind Facility J is OPA.
There was a very long break, after we finished the last arc of the puzzle. Now in this new arc, there are references to Crowley. Is it possible that in order to maintain cohesion with LG15, the PM has changed direction, and is now tying the storyline into Hymn of One rather than OpAphid? _________________ You made a wise choice, Bree.
