==Background==
Emma was adopted by her first parents at birth, when Emma was nine they were [[Emma's Safe|killed in an accident]], and she was then adopted by [[Jonas's parents]].

Shortly after Emma met Jonas, it was revealed that she was [[Trait positive]] and had been chosen to be the new [[The Ceremony (ritual)|ceremony girl]]. Jonas and Daniel quickly drugged her and took her to a remote location, and asked [[Sarah]] to bring [[Spencer]]'s serum, to try to make her "Trait Negative." Although they told her a false story about meeting her parents for a vacation, she soon searched the Internet and discovered that her parents had been shot, about [[Bree]]âs death and the Hymn of One. She made a meager attempt to run away, but soon decided to stay, making Jonas promise to never lie to her again.

In the video âShadow of Deathâ, Emma, Jonas, and Daniel found themselves surrounded by the Order. In the midst of the ordeal, [[Sarah]] appeared . In the end, they made an escape when Emma charged at a Shadow, grabbed him and he mysteriously died. The remaining Order members fled , Emma and the rest departed without resistance. This led Jonas to believe that she had special powers capable of killing HoO members.

Soon after the confrontation, [[Claire|LaRezisto]] released a [[Help Us!|video]] about Emma. In the video a male voice tells Emma that she has a power, that she should help LaRezisto and that the Order fears her. The video ends with the male voice calling her âAngel of Deathâ. Daniel reacted with his [[Bullsh%t|own video]], expressing his mistrust for LaRezisto.

In the video "[[Decision Time]]", it is revealed that Emma began taking injections to convert her to trait negative. In the [[Last Train To...|following video]], Emma is shown boarding a train with her parents. Emma then posts a [[I Like Being Me|vlog]] telling us she wishes to live a normal life and announcing she will be taking the last of her injections.

After being gone only six days, Emma [[Robbing the Cradle|returns]] to Jonas and Daniel offering to help. Two days later, LaRezisto posted another video [[Join Me!|saying]] that she was a trait positive woman, named [[Claire]], wanting to help Emma hone her powers. Amid much protest from Daniel and Sarah, Jonas takes Emma to a remote place in the woods to meet with Claire. He then [[Watch Your Back|allows]] her to take Emma even deeper into the woods alone, and a [[Watcher]] comes out of the woods and calls Claire a "LaRezisto Shadow" and says Emma is in danger.

With Jonas unable to find her, videos have been posted from LaRezisto in which Claire [[Emma's Safe|warns TAAG]] not to make any attempts to find them. They also include clips of Emma, [[Girl Talk|apparently forced]] to say that [[She's Telling The Truth|she's fine]]. With TAAG doing all they could to find her, and Emma only in captivity for less than a month, Claire and Emma posted a [[Goodbye For Now|video]] saying that she would indeed be doing [[the Ceremony (ritual)|the Ceremony]] and saying goodbye to Jonas, Daniel, and Sarah.
Emma was eventually [[What Happened?|rescued]] by TAAG, however, her father told her she would not be bothered by Jonas again. While in [[Around the World|hiding]] with her parents, Emma continued to post videos giving us updates on how she was doing, which included being sick and having strange [[Sick Dreams|dreams.]] After being silent for 15 days, Emma finally posted another [[Eat Pie|video]] where she tells us that she is back at school and has changed her name, but can't reveal what it is. In the same video, she told us that while she was not completely well, but feeling about "seventy to seventy five percent" and had developed a rash that she called a butterfly rash. Days later, she was unable to [[Can't Sleep. Wanna chat?|sleep]] and posted a video expressing her concerns about the rash and her similarities to the [[Gina|girl]] in the [[Who's that girl?|VHS tape]] Jonas had posted. A few days later, Jonas and Dr. Hart were [[Killers at the Door?!|disrupted]] by knocking at their door, afraid they had been found by Verdus, they began to flee, however, before they could, the hotel manager got into their room with Emma, who had made her way to Jonas. Jonas later [[Playing Doctor|explained]] that Emma had run away after showing her parents [[Gina]]'s videos and they wouldn't listen to her. Emma and Dr. Hart seem to have [[Get Your Freak On|bonded]] as they were seen sharing cookies and a lot of laughs. After Dr. Hart and Jonas were took Emma to a new undisclosed location, she posted a [[A Girl Alone|video]] sitting against a blank wall and telling us that her parents had put out an APB on her. Although she said very little, Jonas felt that her reference to fattigmann cookies tipped off Verdus and led them to [[They Shot Him!|ambush]] him and Dr. Hart. Days later, Emma [[Brainwashed In Chat|posted]] another video expressing her concern for Sarah who had logged into the chat and said she belonged with the HoO. Emma, along with Jonas and Daniel, then followed Jennie to Mexico and [[Party Crashers|rescued]] Sarah.

She is a big fan of [[Watchers Everywhere|Nancy Drew]], and considers her her idol. Since her first video was posted on youtube on November 1, 2006, many fans have speculated about whether Nikki is an official character of the LG15 series. Some fans speculated that she may become an official character eventually, much like [[Gemma]] and [[Jonas]] did. Others believed that she may have been created as a source to disclose information to LG15 fans without straight-out saying it in one of the other official videos. On January 25, 2007, after Nikki Bower was identified as being played by actress [[Alli Danziger]], Nikki posted a disclaimer that she was not canon. However, on April 17, 2007, Bree referred to Nikki by name for the first time in [[New Girl]], making references to Nikki's most recent video, which strongly suggests that Nikki has moved into a more canonish status.

The production value of her videos always suggested she may be an official character; however her videos lack the repeated cuts found in other canon videos (which gave away both [[Gemma]] and [[Jonas]]). This suggests that her videos are not edited by the lg15 team. In her first video she displayed the full URL of the forum, which many fans speculated might point to her being official (trying to attract fans to the forum).

In comments after Nikki's sixth video "[[Where Is Jonas?]]" a YouTuber called Memewhile declared "This is another actor hired by the Creative Artist agency in LA as part of the Lonelygirl15 series. She is reading a script written by [[Mesh Flinders | Ramesh Flinders]]". Nikki responded by saying innocently, "Who's Ramesh?"

The most significant clue that points to her being an official character is found in her video [[What I Found at Topanga Canyon - NBR 2]]. In this video, Nikki Bower finds a small box near the site of [[The Ceremony]] with a lock of blond hair in it. Engraved on the top of the box is the [[Watcher]] symbol. This video was posted ten days ''before'' [[Gemma]]'s video [[A Watcher]], in which the symbol was first officially introduced.

However, one theory that addresses this issue is that Nikki is simply a fan who has been receiving tips from the Creators. In her first video, Nikki goes to Topanga Canyon but doesn't find anything, and asks for ideas from other fans. In her next video, she says that "I got a lot of tips, and I am back here in Topanga Canyon." And later: "I was told in a private email message, that longitude may have more significance than we think. And it may have to do with footsteps." When she takes 118 steps (corresponding to 118 degrees longitude, where the canyon is located) she reaches a bridge. "One of you guys told me to keep my eyes out for the bridge... this is the bridge." And looking around the bridge, she finds the box. It is quite possible that the anonymous tipper was [[the Creators]], who got excited at Nikki's first video and decided to plant some clues. Later, in [[Investigating Gemma - NBR 7 | NBR 7]], Nikki finds Gemma's building after "I was lucky enough to get an anonymous message that gave me the ZIP Code of where Gemma is residing. I don't know if it was from [[Tachyon]] herself or one of her cohorts..." So it seems that Nikki is not exactly an official character, but simply a fan who has caught the attention of the Creators - a pawn, if you will.

=== Nikki uncovered===
On January 25, a post on [[Milowent]]'s blog revealed that Nikki Bower was portrayed by [[Alli Danziger]] a friend of [[the Creators]], however, Nikki has stated that she is not canon. ([http://www.lg15.com/lonelygirl15/forum/viewtopic.php?p=170690#170690 See forum post].) It is clear however that despite being revealed as fictional, Nikki is determined to remain [["in character"|in character]]. Also, it has now become apparent where Nikki gets her anonymous tips from, however, the question remains whether or not she is truly canon. It is possible that Nikki is working independently of the Creators fueled with insider information. Alli D had done a previous Nikki B style roving news journalist bit as part of her acting training. This is very likely the well from which Nikki B sprang with the blessing of the Creators. Either way, whether she is canon or not, much of her information obviously is. Additionally, many fans feel that Nikki B brings a much needed levity in the face of the increasing darkness of the main story line and are thankful for her contributions no matter where they originate from.

==Other Miscellaneous Info==
[[Image:NBRNDGTL.gif|thumb|left|Nancy Drew?]]In her video [[Watchers Everywhere]], Nikki reads from a copy of [[Nancy Drew's Guide to Life]], a book that was found in a [[Drop 3 (The Tachyon Mystery Stories)|Tachyon drop]]. She reads the following quote from the book:

In most of her videos, Nikki is walking around and the camera is following her, even though she is clearly not holding it. Nikki never acknowledges a camera person, but it is obvious that she must have one. When asked who her cameraman was by a YouTuber, she replied that it was her mom. (comment on NBR 6)

The YouTuber Moldova pointed out that a tag on her third video is "nikkiebowerreport" (note spelling with "e") leading one to ask the obvious question: who spells their own name wrong? However, it is possible the "e" is her middle initial.
