I think the fact that, you know, Daniel didn't come with her is what's really upsetting her. ''(Sighs).''

I go by her room every couple hours, I knock on the door, leave a tray of food but ''(shakes head)'' she's barely ate anything.

I have a plan though, 'cause I know she likes chocolate chip cookies, right? So, I went to this bakery. Then I got into some random conversation with the owner about how she used to be in advertising... some big shot in the city and she needed a life change... I don't know. Anyway. The cookies are great, and er... (''laughs to himself)'' she ate those.

I don't understand, it's weird, it's just like she's put herself in some kind of self-imposed solitary confinement, you know like prison-style.

Yeah it's, look, it's not like I blame you, you know, you've been a... you've been a great friend... you've put your life in danger and everything. It's just that I think you are the only person in the world who knows how to cheer her up.

I spent hours walking around the local freight yard till I found a place where I could catch out. That's, uh, code word for hop a train. I talked to a few homeless guys and they told me how it worked. You don't just, hop on at the station. These bulls, or railroad cops, check all the cars before the train goes out. When a train enters a residential area, it has to slow way down. That's when you jump on. So I was out in ''(laughs)'' an open box car, riding with this, uh, old dude named Walter. Really interesting. He told me two months out of every year he just sits there and rides the rails. Sees the country. The other ten months? He works for a mortgage company. That's freedom I guess, right? So anyway, I'm back. I showered, like, all day. I got my hair cut. I almost feel like a normal person again. I'm going to get my job back at Gas 'n Eats.
