Blog Girl is the one hundred seventy-eighth video in the lonelygirl15 video series.

Transcript
Bree: Hiya! Checkin' in from the dark side of the moon...a.k.a., the bunker. So, I'm very excited about stumbling across Julie's MySpace page. Still trying to figure out if she's in the Hymn of One or not. Ummm, she posted a new blog over the weekend. She talks about a complex exercise routine, which kinda sound like the exercises I did in preparation for the ceremony. (Bree gets close to the camera, says in a hypnotic voice:) Julie...let me ask you a question. Are you in the Hymn of One? Look into my eyes, Julie. (Back to sitting and talking normally) Then again, I could just be overreacting, because she does play soccer, so it could just be practice for training. I don't know. Maybe I am reading too much into this. (Whispering, close to screen) I could really use your help. (Normal again) I've tried messaging her a bunch of times, but she never answers any of my questions. She's a little standoffish. (Makes "standoffish" movements, acting somewhat afraid and disgusted) Dunno. Oh!! (Laughs) You wouldn't believe what Jonas and Daniel are doing. They're hypnotizing each other! They're doing these kind of, like, memory experiments. They've become...obsessed with this guy that kidnapped us in Vegas, and they think by hypnotizing each other, they'll...they'll...I don't know, remember things? (Snorts mockingly, then calms herself.) Whew. Daniel. (Gets close to camera, speaks in hypnotic voice, rocking back and forth and doing strange things with her hands) You're getting sleeeepy...oooooo... (Reverts back to normal) Boys. Actually, watch them make it work, and then I'm sitting here making fun of them... (shrugs) Enough hypnosis for one day. I want to talk a little bit about the Hymn of One. I really think that there is...a bit of confusion around it. First of all, read my lips: it is not a legitimate religion. A legitimate religion, in my mind, is beliefs that center around a higher purpose, or, or meaning, and the dangerous thing about the Hymn of One is that it masquerades as a real religion, but its true purpose is the exact opposite. For example, they talk about free will a lot. Truthfully, it's just another way to make you feel empowered, when in fact they're getting you to do exactly what they want you to do; the Ceremony. Now, the Ceremony is the key. I wish that I knew more about it, but clearly it's very important to the Order. I mean, I walked right up to the edge of doing it, and I only knew the preparations for it. I know a lot of you signed up for the website at Hymn of One.org, but don't listen to them! They'll just end up sending you a bunch of religious gobbeldy-gook. And like I said, not a real religion. It's hard to talk about all this stuff without the facts, so...back to work. Maybe one day, we'll have this all figured out.

Notes
*Bree says that Daniel and Jonas were hypnotizing each other. Daniel may be sober or actually working to get there.
*Bree says she knows a lot of people signed up at HymnOfOne.org... how does she know this?!

Notes
* Co-creators Mesh Flinders and Miles Beckett have cameo appearances as Watchers. The third watcher may be Greg Goodfried wearing a fake beard but there are doubts.
* This is the first Crossover involving Tachyon directly in the series, although Daniel mentioned her in the video Homeless as the one who alerted him to the Order's tracking device in his car.
* Although the camera zoom up at the building implies that they are on a top floor, the number "2" (indicating "second floor" can be seen on a plate in the elevator doorway.
* The Malaysian plane seen is thought to be the one with Tachyon on it from Fiji.
* Helicopters have been seen in other videos but always thought to be connected with the Order not Tachyon. However, it now appears that all the helicopter sightings in videos were Tachyon.
* The reference to bowling a 112 comes from one of Tachyon’s drop videos, Knock 'Em Down, in which Tachyon scores 112 at the "Sea bowl" bowling alley in Pacifica, CA.
*When Bree says "If she says we can trust him, we can trust him." It could be that "She" refers to Tachyon, and that "Him" is Brother.
*This is the first video in which Daniel and Jonas are in direct contact on camera with members of The Order.
*As Bree climbs up the ladder at the end, you can hear a loud whooshing noise, possibly a helicopter.
* Some say it would be assumed that Jonas got out safely as well considering he was the one filming and Daniel later obtained the footage. Others argue that the camera could have been thrown or passed off.

Canon

71.232.7.57: /* Confirmed Characters */ - Tachyon "Human Ransom" update

According to Wikipedia, "In the context of fiction, the canon of a fictional universe comprises those novels, stories, films, etc. that are considered to be genuine, and those events, characters, settings, etc. that are considered to have inarguable existence within the fictional universe. In order for the fictional universe to appear cohesive, especially in fictions that contain multiple parts, both creators and audiences sometimes find it useful to define what has and has not "actually happened" in that universe. Usually items that are considered canon come from the original source of the fictional universe while non-canon material comes from adaptations, spin-offs or unofficial items, often in different media."

The term has been very popular with LG users speculating on whether or not charcters on YouTube are an official part of the LG universe or not.

The following list is highly speculative and the relative probabilities will probably change over time. This list just represents an "educated guess' by the user community based on the current available information. To provide a standard "litmus test" a character will not be declared official until they are included on the video list of lonelygirl.com. At that time they will be removed from this speculative list.

Lonelygirl15
Confirmed Characters
*Bree
*Daniel
*Gemma
When the first Gemma video appeared, it was unknown whether or not the character was an official part of the Breeniverse or just a fan video. The editing style in Gemma's videos is similar to the editing in the lonelygirl15 videos. The actress that plays Gemma was quickly identified through MySpace.com as an aspiring actress named Jackie, a pal of Jessica Lee Rose in real life. This connection convinced many that Gemma was canon.

This was confirmed when Bree responded with Hi Gemma! and later when a Gemma video It's Not Your Decision was uploaded to the official lonelygirl15 account on Revver.

*Jonas
Before officially acknowledged, many users thought Jonas was an official character because of his videos' high production value and editing style. This kind of unlikely and dramatic detail also pointed to Jonas being canon (although something like that is not something that couldn't happen to a character outside of the Lonelygirl15 story).

In Bree's Thanksgiving video she acknowledged Jonas: "Well, I feel silly. I thought about what you said, Jonas, and I realized I've been taking Daniel for granted. . . Thank you for reminding me what's important." This reference convinced many that he was canon, and this was confirmed with the release of Trust Issues on November 29, 2006 as an official lg15 video. This is similar to the way Gemma was brought into the story.

Probable Characters
*Nikki Bower

Fans speculate that Nikki Bower may be canonical as she has discovered many filming locations with seeming effortlessness. Moreover, she uncovered the tell-tale watcher symbol, which was later incorporated into the series in Gemma's Someone's Following You. The video Mystery Movies suggested to some that Nikki is or is becoming canon.

Speculation based on analysis of the Member Directory, however, suggests that Nikki Bower is not officially connected with the production team. Furthermore, Nikki herself has denied her own canonicity, although some fans have philosophically discussed how a canon character would be likely to answer such an accusation.

Improbable Characters
*Dr. Immant

Dr. Immant has established links with Orange Slurpee, from his video Order Announcement: New Policy to Combat Misinformation, but has not yet established any official connections with any of the LG15 characters. Analysis of the Member directory seems to suggest that Immant is not canon.

Highly Improbable Characters
*Orange Slurpee

The clock in Jonas's house was set to approximately 7:11 in the video Trust Issues!

Fans speculate that the repeated orange imagery in Breakfast In Bed was ominous foreshadowing of the impending threat of the Watcher.
----

OpAphid - ARG affiliate of Lonelygirl15
Confirmed Characters
*OpAphid
OpAphid has been confirmed by the Creators as the official ARG.

The Creators explained that OpAphid is official, but they do not produce it:

Dear Fans,

We want to clarify the connection between OpAphid and lonelygirl15.
Simply put, OpAphid is supplemental material that adds to the lonelygirl15 experience….

This was a 100% fan created ARG. We liked it so much that we decided to contact the creator
and make it the official LG15 ARG.

*Tachyon

Daniel refers to Tachyon in Homeless, and apparently was with the gang in, and presumably helped edit, The Human Ransom--although she is never actually shown.

Disconfirmed Characters
*Cassie

Cassie's relationship with LG15 is especially ambiguous. Bree mentions Cassie in Swimming! and OpAphid, the official ARG of LG15, has interacted with Cassie. But The Creators have also officially disavowed the cassieiswatching ARG because they disliked how "dark" it became.

Nonetheless, her mention in both LG15 and OpAphid suggests that Cassie may eventually join the host of canonized characters. See What ever happened to that girl, Cassie?.
