<nowiki></nowiki>Brother (Also known as "10033" and "Sebastian") is [[Tachyon]]'s partner. Brother feigns idiocy regularly, going as far as to claim he cannot find the "any key" on a keyboard and doesn't know how to "right click" in order to keep The Order off him. He uses the guise of a surveyor from [http://www.lonelygirl15.com/lgpedia/index.php?title=The_Test_%28USA_Today%29 USA Today] over the phone to figure out who is on Tachyon's side before speaking with them. "Brother is supposed to be the recipient of all of Tachyon's drops and they communicate through voicemail messages and puzzles.

Brother was previously located in London, for reasons unknown at this time, posing as "Sebastian" at a school. [[Gemma]] was also undercover at this school in order to get close to Brother.

On February 15, 2006, Gemma [http://www.lonelygirl15.com/lgpedia/index.php?title=Puzzle_%28Language_Labs%29#Rar_Contents emailed] "Sebastian" an apology for how she had behaved earlier in class. They had been friends for a few weeks before this letter, and she admits that she had become interested in him romantically. Whether her feelings were true or just part of her plan to get close to him, is unknown.

On August 6, 2006, [http://www.lonelygirl15.com/lgpedia/index.php?title=Everything_You_Need_To_Play_OpAphid#IPOD_OPERA_.28what_is_it.3F.29 warpylol] posted the video "Add Poe Hinder Vilification" ("Location Verified, D in APHID") to alert [[OpAphid]] of Brother's exact location. Tachyon saw the video, figured it out, and arranged for Brother to escape. They planted a corpse on the explosion scene to make OpAphid believe "Sebastian" had been sufficiently dealt with.

Since then, he has been under a self-imposed house arrest; growing a beard and living like a shut-in. Brother did this so that The Order would not make the connection that he was the same person as "Sebastian" and had thwarted their attempt on his life.

On December 31, 2006, Brother was to [http://www.lonelygirl15.com/lgpedia/index.php?title=Gemma_%28Part_V%29 assassinate Gemma] for leading warpylol to him. Whether or not he was successful is still up in the air.

On January 8, 2007, Brother took over Gemma's account. We still do not know if Gemma is alive or dead, but because of the account recovery, it has led many to believe that Gemma was killed. [http://www.lonelygirl15.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4909 Care to discuss this?]
We know that Brother hacked the account, because Brother changed the profile to:
<pre>Greetings and salutations!

It's time you all knew the truth about Gemma.
P.S. I assume it'll take him awhile, but if you're reading this then my
"brother" 10033 has successfully taken control of this account on my behalf.

P.P.S. For more information about the Order and OpAphid, check out our
==Trivia==
* It is interesting to notice that the numbers 10033, discounting the zeros, are the three numbers that, when rearanged, make up the number 313. This is significant in the fact that this is the number of the frame in the "Zapruder" / Kennedy Assassination film that shows the impact of the actual shot.
* 10033 is the zip code for the Washington Heights neighborhood in Manhattan.

[[Image:Lazyeye.jpg|thumb|200px|Who's that girl?]]

In the summer of 2006, as the Lonelygirl15 [[List of Lonelygirl15 videos|video series]] gained popularity on [[YouTube]], a growing collection of fans became obsessed with cracking the mystery of [[lonelygirl15]]. The Hunt for Bree became a major internet phenomenon that captured the attention of many YouTubers and was heavily covered in the mainstream media.

==Early Suspicions==
By the time the [[First Blog / Dorkiness Prevails|first lonelygirl15 vlog]] appeared on YouTube on June 16, [[Bree]] had already developed a large fan base. Two videos had been posted to her account, [[YouTubers Secret Language]] and [[Paytotheorderofofof vs. Dinosaur]], which included references to many popular YouTubers at the time. By friending popular users, such as Paytotheorderofofof and The Wine Kone, and subscribing to hundreds of channels, Bree instantly had a large fan base.

[[Image:Doubter.jpg|thumb|200px|The first doubt|left]]

Suspicions that Bree was something other than a 16-year-old homeschooler began almost immediately. In the comments of Bree's first video, some users already questioned whether she was really 16.

More suspicions quickly arose around lonelygirl15. The editing in her videos was distinctive. While most [[vlog|vloggers]] would record one long take and post it without much editing, Bree's videos consisted of dozens of short takes. While not outside the technical capabilities of a smart high schooler, the process seemed unnecessarily time consuming.

Others noted that Bree's video blog was unusually well-lighted. It appeared that Bree employed a technique called [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fill_light fill lighting] to provide illumination on the part of her face that was in shadows. Still others cited Bree's striking good looks, flawless complexion and distinctive [[Breebrows|eyebrows]] as suspicious.

==Is That a... Story Arc?==
As the series developed, many fans noted that lonelygirl15's videos appeared to have a plot. This alleged storyboarding suggested that lonelygirl15 was working off a script. The videos were more episodic and on-point than most vloggers at the time.

*[[School Work in Summer... BLECHH!!!|School Work in Summer...]] -- establishes Bree's protective parents
*[[The Danielbeast]] -- introduces Bree's geeky editor, [[Daniel]].
*[[Grillz feat. Danielbeast, LG15, P. Monkey, and O'n| Grillz]] -- shows the two having fun together.
*[[My Parents Suck...]] -- introduces the conflict between parents and Daniel.
*[[Daniel Responds]] -- a soliloquy from Daniel.
*[[Daniel Returns, and More Interesting Factoids (Yay!)|Daniel Returns]] -- the story arc resolves.

Throughout the series, similar sequences of events have unfolded. The technique was described by [[Brian Flemming]] as a video adaptation of the Epistolary Novel.

==Enter Bukanator: An Over-Eager Fan==
Amid the comments of Bree's very first video, a YouTube user named [[Bukanator]] commented, "This is wonderful." Bukanator responded favorably to every early video Bree posted, at times defending Bree from critical comments. Bukanator was supposedly a 38-year-old software engineer from San Francisco.

After less than a month of videos, on July 16th, Bukanator announced in the comments of YouTube that he had created a fan site for Bree at [[lonelygirl15.com]]. As Bukanator was supposedly a 38-year-old man, this struck many people as very strange and inappropriate behavior. The site contained a blog of all the videos as well as a [[phorum|forum]] for discussion, which seemed unnecessary since lonelygirl15 had posted relatively few videos at this point. On July 19, the blog Liquid Generation reported that YouTube users looked up the site registration of lonelygirl15.com.

A search in a WHOIS directory revealed that the site had been registered on May 12, 2006, along with lonelygirl15.org and lonelygirl15.net. Since Bree had not posted her first video until May 24 and her first vlog until June 16, it was impossible for a random fan to have registered the site that early. The site had been registered through DomainsByProxy, the default proxy registration site of [http://www.godaddy.com/ GoDaddy.com].

When confronted about this discrepancy, Bukanator claimed that [[Daniel]] had registered the site. Daniel then claimed in YouTube comments that he had been teasing [[Bree]] about how she was going to be a famous vlogger, and he registered the site as a joke. He further claimed that Bukanator had e-mailed him about starting a fan site and so he let him use lonelygirl15.com.

Virtually nobody believed the story. On July 20th, YouTube user [[gohepcat]] became the first to post a video listing arguments that lonelygirl15 was fake, citing the fan site registration, the story arc, the use of fill-lighting and the odd fact that Daniel is allowed in Bree's bedroom with the door closed.

==Enter Crowley: An Unlikely Icon==
[[Image:Crowleyshrine.jpg|thumb|200px|Thelemite? Seriously?]]

In the video, [[What Did Daniel and Dad Talk About?]] Daniel begins lighting candles around Bree's room. When he walks to Bree's bookshelf, the image above the candles is briefly, but clearly shown on camera. Bree scolds Daniel when he attempts to light the candles. Viewers of the video on YouTube quickly identified the image as [[Aleister Crowley]].

Bree had mentioned in previous videos that her parent's were strictly [[Bree's religion|religious]]. In the comments to her videos on YouTube she went so far as to identify her religion as non-Christian, but claimed reluctance to share more information as she suspected viewers would not be kind. A very small number of viewers had seen the YouTube comment that Bree was not Christian, and the Crowley picture was extremely surprising.

Within days, a video called [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K66l7DRUHBE Lonelygirl15 is a Satanist] appeared on YouTube inaccurately linking Crowley to Satanism and Adolf Hitler. The video went on to claim that lonelygirl15 was a promotion for museumofhoaxes.com, the first of many wildly inaccurate theories on the production.

A thread on Bree's religion became the first active thread at [[lonelygirl15.com]]'s [[phorum]]. Over the course of the next few weeks hundreds of fans registered at the phorum and the frenzied posting and media storm which eventually led to Bree's outing began.

'''Brian Flemming''' is a film-director, best-known for the film, "Nothing So Strange," a faux-documentary about the assassination of Bill Gates. After writing an entry on his blog about Lonelygirl15, Flemming briefly became the lead suspect as the puppetmaster of the project.

==Jumping the Shark==

In an August 21 [http://www.slumdance.com/blogs/brian_flemming/archives/002277.html entry on his blog], Flemming wrote that lonelygirl15 had [[jumped the shark]]. Flemming pointed to the video [[What Did Daniel and Dad Talk About?]] and [[I Probably Shouldn't Post This...]] as the episodes where the series fell apart. While he said the picture of [[Aleister Crowley]] that was clearly shown in [[Bree]]'s room was an interesting plot twist, it was unrealistic for Bree's character to upload a video that showed something she was trying to keep secret.

But it was the fight between Bree and Daniel that Flemming felt went too far. The fight, Flemming said, "breaks a cardinal rule of serious mock-doc shooting: Never show a scene that would not plausibly be shot." Flemming also suggested that the video-quality was too high for a Web cam, that the lighting pointed to professionals, that the videos were not shot in real time, and that the lonelygirl15.com fan site was registered before the videos began. While he was correct about the lighting and Web site, [[The Creators]] claim that the videos are shot with a $130 Orbitech Web cam and were filmedi n real time.

At the end of his blog entry, Flemming wrote:
<pre>
Too bad this one flamed out so early.

Adapting the epistolary novel form to YouTube still has some promise, however.
I'm certainly ready to be fooled by another one. Or perhaps to perpetrate one.

Unless I really did perpetrate this one and I'm just trying to distance myself
from it because it's now failing.

Just kidding.

You know me. I'd never try to fool anybody like that.
</pre>

==Flemming Becomes Suspect==
An anonymous fan, known as xanaxbarz, began posting a trove of evidence connecting Flemming to Lonelygirl15 at the [[phorum]], on [[Virginia Heffernan]]'s blog, on Wikipedia and on other forums. Since Flemming had created faux documentaries before, it seemed possible that he would produce a series on YouTube.

But xanaxbarz also pointed out that Flemming was working on a movie called Danielle (The Beast) about a young girl who discovers that there is no Jesus. The similarities between "Danielle, The Beast" and [[Danielbeast]] seemed too great. Xanaxbarz also claimed that a woman in the film "The God Who Wasn't There" resembled [[Bree]]. When others pointed out that the woman in the film looked nothing like Bree, Xanaxbarz backed away from the claim, but said with [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107614 Mrs. Doubtfire-style] make-up that anything was possible.

On Aug. 26, Virginia Heffernan asked [http://screens.blogs.nytimes.com/2006/08/26/is-the-debunker-also-the-bunker in her blog] if Flemming's analysis was ''too'' excellent. This prompted Flemming to completely deny responsibility to Heffernan, to [[Jon Fine]] of Business Week, and [http://www.slumdance.com/blogs/brian_flemming/archives/002288.html on his blog.]

A friend of Flemming's, actress Annie Kehoe, was for awhile suspected as being Bree. Flemming pointed out that the actresses do not look alike and that Kehoe is nearly six-feet tall, while Bree is rather petite.

==Suspicions Linger==
Despite Flemming's fierce denial, doubts persisted. Users on the forums pointed out that Flemming could be lying. On Sept. 5, Virginia Heffernan [http://screens.blogs.nytimes.com/2006/09/05/words-words-words/ mentioned in her blog] that she still suspected Flemming.

Flemming eventually softened some of his initial criticisms, saying that if the show were produced by amateur film-makers it was an excellent debut, despite its many flaws. When [[The Creators]] were finally outed, and Flemming cleared, he claimed to have contacted the [[Creative Artists Agency]] to express interest in having [[Jessica Lee Rose]] audition to star in his movie Danielle.
