Bree: So, this is for Gemma, I know that you're trying to help and I completely understand, but I've trusted my parents my whole life and, if anything, what's happened lately has just made me trust them even more. It was very hard for me to tell my parents that I didn't want to go through with the ceremony and I'm sure that it was even harder for them to admit that they were wrong but they did... They also admitted that they shouldn't have been so blindly trusting of our deacons. My dad even said that he should have asked more questions about the shots that he was giving me. Most importantly, they reminded me that they loved me and they did everything because they wanted what was best for me. And if a person can admit that they were wrong and apologize, I'll forgive them -- especially if they're my parents. As far as your friend Sam goes, I'm sorry about that, I mean, I guess I've struggled a bit when it comes to things with Daniel and my parents. Anyway, um, I think that my parents have been members of the community now for long enough that if they say that I don't have to do something then there'll be no discussion. I'm, I'm pretty sure of that. So, I appreciate the advice but I think that everything's going to be fine. But you should do more video blogs because they're cool. Bye.
Proving Longitude Wrong is the sixty-first video in the Lonelygirl15 video series and the fifth video in the Proving Science Wrong series.

Transcript
(Bree is sitting at her desk wearing her explorer hat and Daniel is on the bed reading Time Magazine)

Bree: Hello, and welcome to another exciting installment of "Proving Science Wrong." Daniel's here, and we're having a bit of fun. (Bree nods) Today we have a troubling question put before us: Do you know your longitude?

(Scene cut: Bree and Daniel are sitting on the floor next to two clocks. Daniel plays with a globe and points to the Prime Meridian in Greenwich, England).

Bree: Your longitude is the lateral distance from the Prime Meridian, measured in degrees. (sighs) I know, I didn't think it was that important either. Until I read this: (Bree holds up a paperback edition of "Longitude: The True Story of a Lone Genius Who Solved the Greatest Scientific Problem of His Time," by Dava Sobel) (Bree reads in a funny proper British voice) 'Twas a foggy day on October 22, 1707. Sir Admiral Cloudesley...--well anyway. He was guiding five boats carrying 2,000 soldiers back to England, when he got lost.

(Scene cut: Bree walks about the room as though, pretending to be blind. She chases Daniel off the bed)

Bree: Cloudesley was approached shortly before nightfall by one of the first mates. He'd been keeping an astronomical journal thingy of where the boat had been travelling. They were hopelessly off course. It was illegal for anyone other than the ship's navigator to keep logs on the ship's position. So Cloudesley had the man hanged. And what do you know, three hours later the fleet runs smack into a row of rocky islands.

(Scene cut: Bree nods to music)

(Scene cut: Bree and Daniel are back on the floor with the clocks and globe. Daniel grabs the Time magazine off the bed and continues reading)

(Scene cut: Bree nods some more to the music)

Bree: Cloudesley was one of the two survivors of the wreck. But when he washed up on shore, a local peasant woman was walking by and she took a liking to his shiny emerald ring--and murdered him for it. True story. (Bree holds up book again) All in this book. So, why is it important to know your longitude? Because if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you're going. And you might run into things that aren't supposed to be there... (looks back at Daniel playing with P. Monkey on the bed) ...like Danielbeasts.

Notes
* Bree does not actually prove longtitude wrong.
* The clock that appears twice in this video displays the time 7:10, but the lighting in the room seems to indicate the filming took place in the afternoon rather than early in the morning or late at night. In fact, 7:10 a.m. on the date of this video was the time of sunrise in Southern California, and sunset was at about 6 p.m. Since the time of sunrise and sunset is largely determined by longitude, the subject of this video, this may be a clue to something. Or the Creators could have just screwed up - not bothered to set the clock correctly, or maybe lit the room in a way that accidentally indicated that it was afternoon.
* "Sir Admiral Cloudesley - " is Cloudesly Shovell. His peculiar first name was derived from the last name of his maternal grandmother Lucy Cloudisley. Lucy is also the name of Bree's Helper. However, it is doubtful that such a tiny detail could be of any signifigance.
* The story Bree tells about Cloudesly Shovell is simply a myth, according to which the wreck was a punishment for the unjust hanging of the first mate. There is no evidence to support this claim.
I Talked To My Parents is the sixtieth video in the Lonelygirl15 video series.

Transcript
Bree: So... I'm really happy for the first time... in a while. I talked to my parents last night, and I told them that I don't want to do the ceremony anymore. I told them that Lucy and some of the other members had created a fake ceremony to trick Daniel, and that I didn't recognize any of the people from the community there. I said that Lucy wouldn't tell me when the ceremony really was, and... she just wanted me to keep preparing indefinately. And my parents said... okay. I guess they had some misgivings as well. They'd asked my dad to keep giving me shots after the ceremony so, he said he thought that was kind of weird. My parents promised that they would go and talk to some of the deacons and tell them I'm not going through with the ceremony. I don't know. I guess I feel kind of... well, really relieved. And the best part is, I told my dad how Daniel had kind of been following me, and keeping watch over me, and dad said that he could come over again. Who knows? Maybe my dad and Daniel will get to be friends over this. But anyway, everything is great again and Daniel's coming over tomorrow. I promise I won't let him sit on the bed and read magazines during my video. Bye!
What Makes Us Sad? is the sixty-fourth video in the Lonelygirl15 video series. Bree gives us some factoids on sadness.

Transcript
(The video opens with a montage of Bree at her desk making a series of sad faces.)

Bree: What makes us sad? Why can't we feel happy when sad things are happening around us? It just seems so silly for us to suffer so much. Even animals get sad, they just show it in different ways than we do. When a dog gets sad, he puts his tail in between his legs. (Bree makes a "sad dog" noise") Elephants are very intelligent. Actually, they're a lot like humans. Some people say that when elephants get sad, they cry. Now that is sad. When Owen gets sad, he hides in his shell.

(cut to Owen)

Bree: (as Owen) It's so dark in here!

(cut to Bree)

Bree: When Thor gets sad, he gets kind of mean. It's really bizarre.

(cut to Thor)

Bree: (as Thor) Grrrrr...

(cut to Bree)

Bree: But Purple Monkey? He never gets sad.

(musical montage of Purple Monkey dancing)

Bree: You know what's really weird? If you frown, even if you feel happy, you'll start to feel sad. (Bree frowns) You should try it! Well, you shouldn't try it but you should... That doesn't make sense. Neuroscientists have found that low levels of serotonin and dopamine are linked to sadness.

(fast forward segment in which Bree says ????)

Bree: (sighs) Anyway, apparently it all comes down to the itty-bitty chemicals in between the nerves in your brain. I dunno about that. I think that...the reason we get sad or that, the reason that it's so painful...is so that we'll change things to make us feel happy again. So...what am I talking about? Well, my parents talked to the deacons, and...I don't think it went very well. They looked all sad and they didn't tell me what happened. (Bree sighs) Anyway, I'm gonna go and try again, maybe later. I hope everything will be okay...I think. Bye.
Life's Not Fair is the sixty-fifth video in the Lonelygirl15 video series, and the last taking place in Bree's Bedroom. Bree says she may still have to go through with the ceremony.

Transcript
(The video starts with Bree pacing in the background, then coming over to sit at the desk.)

Bree: My parents told me a little about what happened. They went to the deacons and they told them that I didn't wanna be a part of the ceremony. And I guess that there was some kind of big argument. I don't know exactly what happened. Lucy was there, and the deacons said that it was unacceptable for me to back out of the ceremony this late. They told my parents that...there was no time to prepare someone else, and that I had to go through with the ceremony. You know...my parents looked really scared. I don't know what to do. I, I can't go through with the ceremony. I'm, I don't want to...but at the same time, I...I have never seen my parents like this, ever.

(fast-forward musical montage of Bree pacing and fiddling with various objects in her room, followed by Bree returning to the desk with a backpack)

Bree: My parents won't talk about what happened. I'm...I just feel really confused. Daniel said that I should come over, so...that's what I'm gonna do. I dunno, I just feel like...I need to talk to somebody...everything's...has gone way too far. Anyway, I'm gonna go over to Daniel's for a bit. So...bye.
Horrid Flatmates is the sixty-eighth video in the Lonelygirl15 video series.

Transcript
Gemma: Hi everyone! Bree, I haven't heard from you for a few days - hope everything's okay. Well, since it's quiet on your end, I thought we could talk about my life here. I guess the biggest culture shock ...flatmates. I mean the nicest people can turn into these nasty demon...beasts. Not Danielbeasts mind you - real beasts. They're brilliant on nights out, but the next morning, they're utter nightmares.

(Gemma has a loud mock argument with herself, switching from standing over the bed, to lying on it. Some portions of the conversation are sped up 300% but the whole of it seems to be random accusations about lack of cleanliness.)

And the food situation...that's just rubbish. I came home from Uni and found my biscuit tin empty. There was a trail of crumbs leading to my flatmate's room. And when I confronted her, she shrugged. I guess I need to put a padlock on the cupboard. And then this gunk in the drain that greets me for my morning bath. To be fair, they probably think I'm the one with the nasty habits or unsavoury personality. ...That's not true (laughs). Even though it's hard sometimes, it has made me appreciate different lifestyles. So that's it then. (waves) Cheers. Bree, I hope to hear from you soon.

Notes
* This was posted two days after Bree's last video, which was a mild cliffhanger, and serves to increase anxiety for Bree and her parents by pointing out the Bree's silence.
* The British term "biscuit" is equivalent to the American "cookie", however the tag "bisquit" is not a British spelling, but an apparent typo.
* Fans speculate that Gemma uses an elaborate form of double talk in her videos, giving Bree advice without revealing her intentions to The Order, which is likely monitoring her actions.

Bree: So... I spent the night at Daniel's last night. He was a gentleman, and he let me have the bed. Look at him! (Bree giggles, zooms in on his face, then his feet again) Look, he barely even fits on it. It's like Gulliver and the Lilliputians. People say the inspiration for the character Gulliver was a hill in Ireland that looks like a sleeping giant. (cut to close-up of Bree's face) I think the inspiration... (cut to Daniel's sleeping face, then back to Bree) ...was Danielbeast... (cut to Daniel) ...the sleeping giant.

(cut to Bree in a new location, apparently outside based on the change in lighting and background noise)

Bree: I came out here because I didn't want to wake up Daniel. When I called my parents yesterday...they actually told me to stay here! Which is...that's really weird. My mom does this thing when she's trying to...like, stay in control. She says everything like she's a robot in the same, even, tone. It drives me crazy. I mean, I don't understand how...they could tell me to stay here. How am I supposed to stay here? I guess that I'll just wait until...I don't know. Well, it's time to go wake up the sleepyhead.
Gemma: Bree, I saw your latest... ah... video and I'm concerned. Let me explain. There was a girl like your age now. I must have been... I must have been eight when it... when it happened and she was like you... ah... chosen to do the ceremony at a young age. I remember the preparations. She too received injections and went on a strange diet. Her family left the commune after the ceremony. The weird things is, they left all their furniture in the house and like, pictures of their family on the wall. I suppose they were in a hurry. Even their dog Sascha was left behind. We got letters from them over the years, but their tone was very different. They were always so likeable, very friendly and warm; but their letters-- it's almost as though it was a different family altogether. I knew something wasn't quite right. I really didn't know what happened. It was - it was strange.

Transcript
Gemma: Bree, I don't think you're taking this seriously enough. It doesn't matter if you've made the decision not to be in the ceremony. It's not your decision to make. They are in charge. To be honest, it hasn't been easy for me to be here. Even though I wasn't picked for the ceremony like you were, it's still difficult for me to be independent. I've known since I was a little girl that one day, I would leave. I've always had misgivings about that place. You know, when I was thirteen or so, I liked this boy, and, um...he was from the town just adjacent to our commune. His name was Sam, and his parents owned a petrol station. One day my mum read my diary and saw his name in it. She knew he and his parents didn't subscribe to our way of thinking, I was told I was never to see him again. I argued with my parents, but it didn't matter. We used a different petrol station from then on. Look, I understand it's hard to know who to trust. I know that. It's your decision, I just hope you'll listen to some of the things I'm saying.
Living In London is a video response to I Lied To Daniel, and a followup to Nut Kills Man. Gemma tells the story of how her mother met Bree's mother.

Transcript
Gemma: Hi, so...I didn't know what to talk about today...um...I thought I'd talk a little bit more about living in London. Suppose the thing that gets to me or spooks me are the sounds of sirens. Police or ambulance sirens. It's the telling people that someone is hurt, or worse. In the community, Bree, we used to ring the bell--you remember, right?--um, to alert people if something had happened. Ah, but mostly London is a nice change. Um...very diverse. In fact, I had Thai for the very first time the other night, and...I can't say I really liked it for sure. It's a little salty, really. But I'm glad I've eaten it, I feel very cosmopolitan. Whereas in my old life, well...you know how that was. Before I forget, Bree, um...I never told you that my mum really looks up to yours. Your mum ever tell you how they met? At university in Edinburgh? It was a philosophy class, a rudimentary one, very basic...and at one point, David Hume, a atheist philosopher, came up as required as he is an alumnus of the university. Well, apparently, um...your mum got very heated at one point and stood up and declared that any bloke whose business it was to thwart the rights of an individual should be put down to sleep...like a dog. I guess this silenced the professor. My mum says after the class, she ran to compliment your mum on her brazenness, and...your mom complimented mine on her frock. And I guess they were friends from then on since! I just thought you should know that...know that she is still, um, deeply respected by my mum. Still a pillar in the community. Anyway, cheers for now.

Notes
* Most viewers of this video assumed that Gemma meant David Hume spoke at the class. Which is odd as he died in 1776. She probably meant he simply came up in the discussion.
* This is the first video for which Vanessa Roveto receives a credit.
