Tachyon, which is the code name for an operative who infiltrated the OpAphid organization, is the spokeswoman for most of the opposition to OpAphid's activities. Further search revealed the thief to be Tachyon, a spy for another secret organization known sometimes as The Family, The Bureau, The Ring, or just Mom and Dad.

For reasons unknown to us, Tachyon has not chosen, or has not been able, to go "home" to Mom and Dad. Instead, she has conveyed her stolen information, as well as anything new that she learns or discovers, through her partner, codenamed "[[Brother]]" or "10033." Brother and Tachyon, who are not actually related, communicate through voicemail, [[Tachyon's Profile Updates Archive|YouTube profile updates]], and [[Everything You Need To Play OpAphid#Previous Drops:|drops]], or physical locations where Tachyon leaves items for Brother to recover. It appears that although Tachyon frequently finds Brother irritating, dense, and slow, she does what she can to protect and help him (such as keeping OpAphid from blowing him up, and facilitating his attack on Gemma).

Tachyon herself is well-characterized by her YouTube tagline about her location: "By the time you know, I'll already be gone." She responds to some people who send her messages via YouTube, but her replies can be witty, helpful, vague, misleading, or simply unrelated to the question asked, seemingly on a whim. She dislikes giving out information about herself or her past, although some of her communication has suggested that she might be connected to the family [[Gemma]] talks about in her video "[[They Disappeared...]]," even as the information she leaves behind reveals more and more about her own personal story. Tachyon does not appear to stay in one place for any length of time, if she can help it, and is extremely fond of codes and cryptography, which she often employs to protect the information she distributes.

Tachyon was first discovered by YouTube user LonWpnX who looked up all the [[LG15]] tags. The similar style to OpAphid and the similar story to Bree caught their eye. When the user was subscribed to, the vids were pulled until the release of [[The Action of an Enemy - Be Careful]].

==Identity==
There has been much speculation as to the true identity of Tachyon, especially after the video [[The Human Ransom]]. A [http://youtube.com/watch?v=oCYIyoSCnrc video] posted by xitsMx suggests that Tachyon is indeed [[Cassie]], and some fans also think this could be the case. Others have suggested that she is the girl that [[Gemma]] mentioned in the video [[They Disappeared...]]. Some have even gone so far as to suggest that it is Gemma herself. There has also been more tentative speculation that Tachyon may be [[Nikki Bower]], and although there are some links and similarities, it is a much more abstract thought to prove.

==Other Name Meaning==
Tachyon is also a hypothetical particle that moves faster than the speed of light. In the language of special relativity, a tachyon is a particle with space-like four-momentum and imaginary proper time. A tachyon is constrained to the space-like portion of the energy-momentum graph. Therefore, it can never slow to light speed or below. To date, the existence of tachyons has been neither confirmed nor explicitly ruled out.

In their post on November 24th, 2006 on the [http://www.lg15.com/lonelygirl15/forum lonelygirl15 message forum], the [[the Creators]] of [[lonelygirl15]] explained the various ways that viewers could interact with their story. Along with viewers' ability to use the official forum to discuss the plot and characters with each other and post questions, comments and suggestions to the characters via the character interaction section of the forum, the Creators emboldened fans to "[c]reate your own characters and storylines within the [[Breeniverse]]." The post goes on to explain that once fans create such videos, this work can be submitted "as 'Video Comments' to a video we produce." Fans were encouraged to "Give [[Bree]] or [[Daniel]] advice. Create your own story (like [[LordGreystoke422]]) or make parody videos (like [[LonesomeOctober]])...you are only limited by your creativity." Many fans took up this challenge and began creating their own response videos. These fan-created videos are diverse in content, genre and production values.

Members of the official forum were given a section in which to discuss these fan-created works. The comments about these fan creations range from praise to criticism to lengthy discussions to occasional speculation about whether or not a video response is connected to the official story. One example of such speculation surrounding an official connection to the lg15 story has revolved around the video responses of [[Nikki Bower]], whose investigative report videos have been set in many of the same locations as [[canon]] videos. This speculation could be due to the fact that two official characters, [[Gemma]] and [[Jonas]], were introduced to the audience in videoblogs under the guise of fan responses. Once Gemma and Jonas were acknowledged by Bree in her videoblog, these two characters were understood to be an official part of the Breeniverse. Speculation about other videos revolved around the fan spin-off [[OpAphid]], which became the official [[Alternate Reality Game| ARG]] of the lonelygirl15 series. OpAphid is unique in the fact that it was not created by the lg15 production team, but was rather incorporated into the series. According to a post made on November 24th, 2006 on the official forum, the Creators stated that OpAphid "was a 100% fan created ARG. We liked it so much that we decided to contact the creator and make it the official LG15 ARG."

In this November 24th post, the Creators continue with the following statements: "We can't wait to see what other characters and storylines you guys come up with. Your creativity and passion is truly amazing." Although the producers of the lonelygirl15 saga encourage fan-created materials, they are careful not respond to, comment on, or endorse these videos in any way. Fan creations can be uploaded to users' personal [[Revver]] accounts, and can appear on the main page of the [http://lonelygirl15.com Tribute to Lonelygirl15 site] in a column next to the most recent lonelygirl15 video. Although referred to as "Fan Creations and Spin-offs" on the official forum, they are sometimes referred to by some viewers as {{wikipedia|Fan_fiction| Fan Fiction}}. This genre of fan-created video fiction is still developing and has yet to be named or specifically defined within the lexicon of fan-created endeavors.

Taylor worked with Opladybug and other people on the forum to find information on [[Isaac Gilman]]. They found this blog that says he plays tennis at the La Jolla Health and Tennis Club, (''cut to a sign that says "Tennis Club"'') so here we are. '''Jonas:''' So after about fifteen minutes of working out, Sarah and Daniel quit and took off. (''Cut to a shot of Sarah breaking a raw egg into a glass.'') So I decided I'm just going to walk around the club and see if anybody knows Isaac Gilman. Nobody knew anything, so I went to the reception desk, (''Jonas drinks the egg'') and then this nicely dressed lady walked up to me and said, "Isaac Gilman is no longer a member of this club." The thing is, she was acting really weird. (''Cut to Jonas in front of a fountain, directly addressing the camera'') Turns out that woman I was talking to (''snaps'') knows Isaac Gilman. That's right, and unfortunately she couldn't go into specifics here, but she said that we could meet her at her house later in the week. Now, I don't know what she's gonna tell me, but it's gotta be huge, because when I mentioned Bree's name, all the color just drained from her face, you know. And, she shared with me privately that she's got information that links Bree, the Order, and this Isaac Gilman all together. But, there's a problem. Um, I don't know what this Gilman guy shared with her, but it can't be good, because... I mean, if she just knows one percent of one percent of one percent of what's goin' on here, her life could be in danger.
