Jonas is a [[Revver]]/[[YouTube]] user who has left video comments on [[Bree]]'s videos.

Jonas is an orphan and lives alone in what was his parents' [[Jonas's house|house]]. In his video [[Happy Thanksgiving]], Jonas disclosed that his [[Jonas's parents|parents]] were lost at sea 6 years ago while traveling along [[Longitude 140]]. He claims to have inherited a large house and a great deal of money.

Jonas offers Bree and Daniel help in the form of shelter and financial support.

==Fan Distrust==

Fans remain largely suspicious of Jonas' motives in offering such generous support to Bree and Daniel. Fans note that Jonas initially only extended support to [[Bree]], rather than to both Bree and Daniel. Moreover, Jonas's profile initially said that he both became a member and posted his first video "one week ago." Because he only became a member and showed interest in [[Bree]] when she was on the run from [[the Order]], fans are suspicious that he may be connected with [[the Order]].

This fan suspicion culminated in [[the Test]], where [[Daniel]] asked registered members of [[lonelygirl15.com]] to contact [[GoodGollyItsHolly]] to pass on a recommendation whether to trust Jonas.

His video's take place in what he says is his father's study.

He later posted a video called [[Tough Cookie]] which included a clip from the[[Tachyon]] video [[Gemma? (Part II)]] that shows [[Gemma]] and [[Lucy]] together, seemingly implying that Gemma is actually working for [[the Order]].

==Etymology of ''Jonas''==

There are two possible derivations of the name Jonas:

*Jonas is the Latin derivation of the Greek form (Ionas) of the Hebrew name Jonah. It is widely presumed that Jonas's name is a reference to the [[Bible|Biblical]] Jonah, who was swallowed by a fish, because this would tie in to the story of his lost parents. *On YouTube and Revver, Jonas uses the name jonastko. The name is a reference to Jonas's boxing hobby. The letters T.K.O. are used in boxing as an abbreviation for "Technical Knock-Out."

REVEALED!]]. Since Bree was 12 at the time, and Gemma 15, it is not surprising that they would not be in the same peer group.

Gemma said that her parents are members of [[Bree's religion]] and this forced her to move to [[Gemma's flat|London]].

Gemma's mother and [[Bree's mother]] met in college, after Bree's mother became angry in a discussion revolving around the philosopher [[David Hume]]. She also taught Bree a game called [[Nut Kills Man]], a fictional variation on "Rock, Paper, Scissors."

==Revelations of Order Involvement==
In a series of videos released as part of the [[OpAphid]] [[Alternate Reality Game]] it was revealed that Gemma was interacting with [[Lucy]] and therefore is likely affiliated with [[The Order]]. In the video [[Tough Cookie]] this footage is shown again and [[Jonas]] seems to confirm that it is real. It also proves she does not live in London, nor England.

If Gemma was working with the order all along, it is likely that her advice for Bree to go home was a trap. However, it has been speculated that at some point between Gemma's "Scared to go Home" video and her next video, The Order somehow got to her and forced her to do their bidding. This is because many people noted a sudden change in Gemma after the live chat.

The English name ''Gemma'' comes from the Italian name Gemma, which derives from Latin ''gemma'', meaning "jewel."

Gemma is also one of two names for the star Alpha Coronae Borealis (also known as Alphecca). Its name Gemma derives from the star's central placement in the constellation Corona Borealis (the Northern Crown).
