Jennie's parents, according to their daughter, didn't spoil her and resided in Indiana. Her mother passed away when Jennie was still young, and as a result she and her father became very close. Her father worked as an attorney for underprivileged people and instilled in Jennie the desire to help others. When Jennie was a freshman in high school, he passed away as well.
