Katharine McPhee was the runner-up on Season 5 of American Idol. On Jan. 17 it was announced that McPhee would guest star in an episode of Lonelygirl15.
According to the Associated Press, McPhee was an early fan of the show, and encouraged her management to approach the creators about a possible guest role.
A song from McPhee's debut album "2007: Katharine McPhee," which will be released on January 30, 2007 will be used in the episode.
