Tau Sciam is a consecrated Gnostic bishop, an 18 year member of the Ordo Templi Orientis, and Master of Post Tenebras Lux Lodge No. 22: a study circle/temple of the Ancient and Primitive Rite of Memphis-Misraim. He also runs his own Gnostic church, the Free Gnostic Assembly of Sophia, under the auspices of Ecclesia Gnostica Universalis.
