Julia: (laughing quietly) I hope Tariq doesn't mind me using his camera, or showing you this. (shows Tariq asleep on her lap, snuggling the stuffed rat and snoring) Aww, sleeping like a baby - a noisy baby. We've had a really good night, and he's still snoring. (mimicking snore) Not very attractive. (points to the camera) I like this, me and you. Tariq's really sweet, he even made me dinner. (mumbled) ...one off, eh?

(Cut to Tariq and Julia in the kitchen earlier that evening.)

Tariq: (stabbing at tomato, making psycho noise and laughing) Hey!

Julia: So... what're you making me then?

Tariq: I am making you a mess. But don't you worry, eh? You're gonna wash up.

Julia: Oh, right - charming! (mumbled) ... I like it, the cooking I mean.

Tariq: Why don't you try it?

Julia: No!

Tariq: See you later, then.

Julia: See you in a bit.

Tariq: (bringing plate to Julia) Look at that.

Julia: It smells nice, what is it?

Tariq: It's tomatoes, courgettes, onions, peppers, garlic, thyme, parsley, olive oil and 65 minutes of my time and expertise. Look at that. Otherwise known as Tariq's trademark ratatouille!

Julia: Cheers, well aren't you Mr. Perfect.

Tariq: I don't know about perfect. I mean I have terrible snores, I think I gave my ex-girlfriend nightmares.

(Julia looks away.)

Julia: (washing up in the kitchen) The ratatouille was really nice and you know, Tariq's really clever, funny enough. (laughs) No seriously, I wanted to tell him so I hope he doesn't mind me posting this little message. And you know if he's confused about his feelings for his ex, then... it's only natural, you know? And you know, I'm having fun, I'm enjoying myself and I don't really want that to change. I don't really know what Kate's got herself mixed up in and if Tariq thinks he wants to help, then I don't want to make a fuss about it, I'm cool... yeah. Cheers, then!

Julia: (going back into living room where Tariq is still asleep. She covers him with a blanket, blows out the candle, kisses him and turns off the light) Don't have nightmares.

Notes

  • Tariq and Julie are drinking white wine.
  • This video tells a story in a non-linear fashion, with a "flashback" sequence in the middle.
  • Julie's comment about nightmares reminds the viewer of Kate's dreams.
