Richard Rushfield is an entertainment reporter at the LATimes who helped break the wall of silence and mystery surrounding Lonelygirl15. Already on the hunt to find out if Bree was real, Rushfield was approached on or about August 30th, 2006 by a group of three LG15 sleuthers, occasionally referred to as the Phorum 3. The Phorum 3 secretly tracked IP addresses of the LG15 creators, which eventually led to the Creative Artists Agency in Beverly Hills, California. On September 7, 2006, a few hours in advance of an LATimes article by Rushfield, The Creators posted A Message From The Creators that finally acknowledged lonelygirl15 was a fictional production. That post and the traffic from the LATimes article crashed the Lonelygirl15.com site for a few hours.
