Transcript

(Jonas is sitting alone in the library.)

Jonas: I can't believe what happened. Daniel and I, we've been talking about it a lot in the past few days. He won't admit it, but I know he's as shaken up by this as I am. It's really hard to make sense... out of what happened in that brief... 45 second span of time, but I got, I got bits and pieces of it. I remember this older dude, and he was kinda balding, he had gray hair on the side. I--I guess, Bree said he was a deacon, and then I remember a blonde woman? There's something I have to get off my chest. My, my first impulse was to protect Bree. I was running after her, but then... I hesitated. Thank God, Daniel didn't, and he grabbed her. Ah, when---It wasn't until I heard the gunshot that I, you know, I snapped out of it and I realized that we had to get out of there, fast. It's weird, when the black sedan pulled up, I thought that maybe it was some kind of trap that Bree's dad had set or something, but, you know, Bree, she was right--right there in the open, and I don't remember them even trying to grab her. But when I turned around, I saw... I saw Bree's dad on the ground. The next thing I remember, we were just hauling ass trying to get out of that parking structure, but when I looked in the rearview... I saw them loading his body in the trunk... and they really didn't even seem concerned about us. I keep watching the raw footage over and over and over again, like the Zapruder film, but I can't get--I can't get anything out of it more than I already remember. And I asked Beast, you know, what he remembers, but he said he was so focused on making sure Bree was okay that...he doesn't remember much. He said, uh, all he remembers is hair and high-pitched screaming. Those were his words. I'm just... I guess confused, because I don't understand...why they wouldn't grab her if they had the chance. Anyway, it's been really, really difficult for me...to watch Bree going through all this. You know, this brought back a lot of... a lot of memories. But the thing is I have a--I have a lot of books and stuff and a lot of information on... on ways to help, and so I think I'm gonna try to put together a "mental health" exercise for her or something. Alright. Peace.

Notes

  • The blonde woman that Jonas mentions is presumably Bree's former helper Lucy. The description Jonas gives of the Deacon seems to fit the man shown in the video On The Run.
  • The Zapruder film is a home video that was taken of the assassination of U.S. President John F. Kennedy. The film was made on 8mm film, and was very grainy. The footage was used in investigations of the Kennedy Assassination and was featured promintently in the movie JFK.
