Jonas: (Jonas is filming himself in his truck.) Look, I've been-I've been angry lately. When I get angry, I do stupid things. Like, really stupid things. I still can't believe those fuckers came to my house and taped me yesterday. (Cuts to filming a semi in the reflection of his side mirror.) Ever since I saw the video, I just can't -- I can't sleep, I can't focus on anything else, and I --- I started thinking about the way my life was, you know, the way it used to be. A long time ago. (Cuts to blurred shots out car window.) Before all of this. Don't get me wrong, I do not trust these Resistance people. Not at all. (Cuts back to Jonas in the vehicle.) But, I figure if they can find my parents, then-- (Cuts to shot of the outside of Jonas' parents house.) What's the harm in me coming to talk to them, right? Oh, um, oh, also, I just really want to thank everyone out there from the bottom of my heart for helping me crack that -- that code from the Resistance video. I wouldn't be here without you. So, thank you.

Jonas: (The front of Jonas' parent's house is seen.) Woo. Ok! Ahem. Ok. Ok. I can do this. Woo. Here we go. (Jonas enters through the gate.) I can do this. Just gimme a minute. Fuck it. (Rings doorbell.) Ok, there's no going back now. Woo. Oh, man. Maybe they're not -- (Door opens.) Hi, dad. It's me, it's Jonas.

Mother: Sweetie, who's there?

Father: I think he has the wrong address.

Jonas: Mom...

Mother: Is there -- Can we help you with something?

Father: Just call the police.

Mother: Uh, can we help you?

Jonas: They don't remember me. (Cuts to Jonas inside their house. His parents are whispering to each other behind him.) Nothing. Uh -- Least they ... They invited me in. But, you know what? Here's the weird thing: my mom has this picture of me from when I was a kid. I know that she knows who I am somewhere, somewhere deep down. I know she knows who I am. Even if she doesn't remember exactly. I can just -- I can just feel it. (Looks behind at his parents who are hugging each other.) Ha. Ha. This is -- This is amazing.

Mother: Jonas?

Jonas: Yeah?

Mother: There's someone I'd like you to meet.

Jonas: Uh, okay.

Mother: Come on. (She leads him to a room with music blasting from the inside. She knocks.) Em? Emma? Can I come in?

Jonas: It's okay.

Mother: Can -- Can you just wait here a minute?

Jonas: Yeah, yeah.

Mother: Just one moment.

Jonas: Sure.

Mother: I'll be right back.

Jonas: I'll be here.

Mother: Ha, ha. OK.

(She enters the room. Jonas takes a glance at the camera. The door opens once more.)

Jonas: Hey.

Mother: You can come in now.

Jonas: Really?

Mother: Yeah. She's waiting.

Jonas: Thank you.

Mother: You're welcome.

Jonas: (Laughs.) Hi.

Jonas: Hi. I'm -- I'm Jonas.

Emma: I'm Emma.

Jonas: Emma, nice to meet you.

Emma: Nice to meet you.

Jonas: So ... What?

Emma: (Points to camera.) Well, why do you have a camera?

Jonas: It's a long story. Um, I'll tell you later.

Emma: Ok. (They both laugh.) Um, this is really weird for me. Um, oh my God. I have a brother. Who's holding a camera.

Jonas: I know! Well, yeah, I know. It's weird. And... I can put it -- I can put it down, if it makes you more feel more comfortable. I don't hafta. 'Cause I just kinda...

Emma: No! Actually I think it's actually kinda cool.

Jonas: Really?

Emma: Yeah, I do.

Jonas: Oh, me and you are going to get along.

Emma: Really? Why do you have that with you all the time?

Jonas: Kinda. yeah. It's like ... I'm going to put the camera down. I think it's ...

Emma: O --

Jonas: I'm going to put it down.

Emma: Ok.

(The scene changes from Emma's room to her living room. They are playing charades.)

Jonas: So, star! Star!

Emma: Ok.

Jonas: What's it -- Star second? Number two? Star dancer? (Emma makes plane sounds.) Star planes! Star plane, right?

Emma:No! (She makes gun sounds.)

Mother: Star guns.

Jonas: Star guns. Star guns. (They all laugh.)

Emma: No!

Jonas: Star wars! Star wars!

Emma: Yes! (They all laugh. Mother and Jonas high Five.)

Jonas: Yes!

Emma: Woo!

Jonas: That was -- That was great.

Mother: Yes. That was great.

Emma: Ok! Um...

Mother: Aw, I'm sorry, Emma. It's time for bed. (Emma sighs. Mother laughs and Jonas groans.)

Emma: Right.

Jonas: Well, it was really, really great meeting you. And I had a lot of fun.

Emma: I had a lot of fun with you too.

Jonas: Can I get a high five?

Emma: Aw, come here. (They hug.) Ok.

Jonas: Thanks.

Emma: Thanks.

Jonas: Bye.

Emma: Bye.

Mother: Bye, honey. Good night, sweetie.

Emma: Good night. Love you.

Mother: Sleep tight.

Emma: Ok. Bye. Good night.

Jonas: Good night, Emma.

Mother: Oh, I forgot to tell you: On Fridays we have guests coming over. It's just something that we do. You're welcome to stay.

Jonas: Really? Can I?

Mother: Yeah, I'd really like it if you stayed.

Jonas: I would love to stay.

Mother: Good. (There's a knock at the door and the bell rings.)

Jonas: Ah.

Mother: Oh, yeah! That's -- I'll -- I'll be right back.

Jonas: Ok, I'm going to go -- I'm going to go get ready.

Mother: Ok.

Jonas: What should I wear?

Mother: Exactly what you have on is perfect.

Jonas: (They laugh.) Ok. Perfect.

(Jonas walks over to the table and sees candles arranged in an orderly fashion.)

Mother: Hey! Come on in. I'd like you to meet someone. Jonas! These are our friends, Carl and Sonia.

Jonas: Oh my God. This is a joke.

Sonia: Hi, Jonas.

Jonas: Mom! This isn't happening! No! This is not happening! This is not happening.

Mother: Jonas, what's the matter?

Jonas: This is not happening, this is not happening, this is not happening.

Mother: Jonas, please.

Jonas: Trust me, you gotta believe me that these people are not who they say they are. Listen to me! Listen to me!

Mother: Jonas! It's about --

Jonas: I know! No! No! No, I know that you just met me and it's confusing everything. But I know these people. I know them! You gotta believe me.

Mother: The religion of the Hymn of One is -- is about peace and love. Come sing with us. (Jonas stares at her before getting up and walking towards the camera.) Jonas!

Jonas: I can't do this. I can't do this.

Mother: Jonas! Wait.

(The scene changes to Jonas filming from above the stairs and his parents, Sonia, Carl and a blonde woman sit around the table holding hands. The Hymn of One melody plays.)

Father: Each of us holds a part in the universal song within us. Let us gather hands and reach out and sing out.

Mother: We gather our hands and sing out.

Blonde Woman: We gather our hands and sing out.

Sonia: We gather our hands and we sing out.

Carl: We gather our hands and ---

(Jonas makes a creaking sound with his camera. All eyes turn to him from below.)

Carl: Jonas! Gather our hands and sing out.

Mother: Jonas!

Jonas: This is not happening!

All: Jonas, gather our hands and sing out.

(The camera zooms closer to the floor and the scene becomes black. The Hymn of One music fades out.)

Notes

  • Jonas's parents disappeared in 2000. Jonas's sister, despite acting like a child, is clearly no younger than 13, and appears to be significantly older than that. The reason why she and Jonas never knew each other is not addressed in this video. She can't be any older than 7 for Jonas to have presumably not known of her, an age totally ruled out by the actress's appearance (though not necessarily her behavior, and the fact she even has a bed time.) Some fans speculate that she is adopted and will have a similar route like Bree and is a candidate for the Ceremony, though even her having been adopted at an older age does not explain her arrested development and Jonas's parents not remembering him for half the video.
  • This is the first LG15 video to show the face of a main character's parent.
  • Besides lonelygirl15 Season 1 Recap, this is the longest LG15 video to date.
  • Emma is being sent to bed despite it being still visibly light outside.
  • While the blonde woman at the head of the table is speculated to be Barb, it may be Lucy. Some have even suggested that she is Mallory.
