Chapter 8: Foursome is the forty-second blog in the LG15: The Resistance blog series. It is also the video for the eighth chapter in the series.

Voice: The fountain of youth is real, and it's in the blood of dozens of girls across the world. Their secret is known by few, yet desired by all. They are pawns in the most dangerous of games. We are the Resistance. Our mission is to find these girls, and protect them from those who want to use them, and destroy them. And we document what happens to them, so that their stories live on. This is the story of one of those girls. We are the Resistance. We will not be stopped.

Doctor: Well Maggie...
(Doctor enters shot with arms crossed.)
Doctor: I thought it was time we meet again. Talk about your progress. Hmm? Could you take your robe down for me please?
(Doctor gets his stethoscope whilst Maggie pulls her robe down off her shoulders .)
Doctor: Maggie, you see tense. Just relax. Just want to make sure you're tip top dear.
(Doctor puts his stethoscope on Maggie's chest.)

Maggie: What is this for?
Jonas: We want to know who you are.
Maggie: I told you I don't like being filmed. What do you want to know?
Jonas: Who are you?
Maggie: I'm a hi...
Jonas: No no no no! Who are you really?
Maggie: You know know my name.
Jonas: Maggie Shaffer.
Maggie: Yes
Jonas: Ok, well who is she?.
Maggie: It doesn't matter.
Jonas: Why not? Why doesn't it matter?
(Maggie puts her head in her hands and looks at the camera.)
Jonas: Why would you show us the footage every week?
Maggie: To remember. Why we fight.
Jonas: I don't need you to tell me why I do this.
Maggie: Why are you so hostile?
Jonas: Because I don't know if you're here, because you want to help or not or you're here because you're scared. Or maybe you're a traitor. Or maybe, maybe you're just plain crazy.
Maggie: I'm not crazy. I don't know what they did to me ok. The videos, the surveillance I was able to pull it off, the security servers before LBL smart enough to kill it. I've gone through hundreds of hours of video trying to figure out what happen to me
Jonas: You don't remember?
Maggie: I blocked a lot of that pain from my memory. I've forgot a lot of things. But sometimes they come back. Sometimes I wish I was someone else.
Jonas: Like a princess?
Maggie: Don't mock me.
Jonas: I'm not.
Maggie: Yeah, like a princess.

Doctor: Take a deep breath. And release. Wonderful. Remarkable progress
(Maggie pulls up her gown.)
Doctor: Overall how areyou feeling? Maggie, its incredibly rude not so speak when spoken too.
Maggie:I'm fine
Doctor: Good. Great. Your body seems to be regenerating the compound a lot faster then the other girls in the trial. Truth be told, you're our star patient. You're a very special girl Maggie. You're going to save a lot of lives. Of course a girl like you must have...certain needs, desires, yes? Your at the age where you need special tenderness.
(Doctor places his hand on Maggie's knee.)
Doctor: It must be so very lonely for you. For that I am deeply sorry.

Maggie: Like this?
Jonas: (off-camera) No, you can actually pull it back a little bit. (Camera zooms out) There you go.
Maggie: Now what?
Jonas: Now you talk.
Maggie: About what?
Jonas: Whatever you want. It's a video blog. Just...go.
Maggie: But I've never done this before.
Jonas: What are you talking about? You've done this plenty of times.
Maggie: Not as myself.
Jonas: Okay. Well just...go with the very first thing that pops into your mind. The very first thing you're feeling.
Maggie: Okay. I'm worried about LifesBlood Labs.
Jonas: Okay. no, no, no, no, no. Make it more...I guess...personal.
Maggie: Life and death is pretty personal.
Jonas: Yeah, it is. But I mean, like, more everyday stuff. Like, what was the first thing you thought about when you woke up this morning? Things like that.
Maggie: I thought about Reed and Estelle's date.
Jonas: Good. Okay, what about it?
Maggie: I wondered if they had sex and if Sarah was going to become more jealous.
Jonas: (laughing) That was...direct. It was better.
Maggie: Reed and Sarah are...they're funny.
Jonas: Okay, hold on. I want you to talk to the camera. Not to me. Pretend like no one else is around.
Maggie: It's obvious that they care about each other but I don't know why they try to hide it so much. It's a good thing and I dont think they should try to fight it. It's kind of like they take it for granted.
(Maggie hesitates.)
Jonas: What? What?
Maggie: It makes me kind of mad. Because I would like to have a relationship but I know it's pretty impossible given who I am and the kind of life I've been forced into. You know, it's just not reasonable and...uh...a reasonable situation hasn't presented itself to me. Like, someone like Jonas, he's a really great guy.
Jonas: Uh...I'm right here. Don't forget.
Maggie: (looks at Jonas) But you said to pretend like nobody else was in the room.
Jonas: Yeah. You know what? That was, um, a really good start for today.
Maggie: This wasn't so bad. I actually kind of like being honest.
(Static effect and return to clip of Maggie at LBL.)
Doctor: Right now, if we hadn't rescued you from the Hymn of One. You would be preparing for your ceremony. Use you up, toss you aside, like a piece of meat. They kill innocent girls Maggie. They torture them. This little device, this miracle, I know it seems like something else to you but to me, to the world, to the millions of people around the world use this technology, when they put the Life's Blood Labs strain box on their arm, when they have what was once so dangerous a procedure done them, they'll have you to thank. Your suffering, your pain, it's for something. You're helping to give an entire generation new life, you are going to be at the center of a new leap forward for science. How does that make you feel?

Sarah: Ok, so I just woke up and it's Jonas and Maggie. They're gone. I have no idea where they are. I mean maybe they went out but Jonas said the other day that we shouldn't go out because of the 8 billion people who are chasing us. I mean what if they got abducted or worse, they left me behind. I have to know, which is why..uh..I have to ask Reed.
(Sarah knocks on Reed's door.)
Sarah: Reed, Reed, Reed
(Sarah opens Reed's door and sees him in bed with Estelle.)
Sarah: Reed
Reed: Sarah, what the crap?
Sarah: What are you doing?
Reed: What are you doing?
Sarah: You didn't answer me.
(Sarah closes the door. Cuts to scene with Reed, Estelle and Sarah in the kitchen.)
Reed: You're sure he's gone?
Sarah: Do you see him around here anywhere genius?
Estelle: Ok, what is your problem?
Sarah: I'm fine, you on the other hand.
Estelle: Oh what?
Reed: Ok guys come on.
Sarah: Listen to me, if you sold them out I swear to God
Estelle: What are you talking about? Oh wait, this is about Reed isn't it.
Reed: Can we not talk about me like I'm not in the room.
Sarah: Get over yourself ok? I could care less about him. I'm sorry I didn't mean..
(Jonas and Maggie walk in the front door.)
Jonas: Whoa, everything ok?
Sarah: Everything ok? No everything is not ok! Where the hell have you been?
Jonas: Whoa, when did you become my mom?
Maggie: We were at a movie.
Sarah: At a movie?
Jonas: Yeah, I know, listen. I know, I know I said we shouldn't go out...
Sarah: What make you think you can just disappear. Go off on a date like a bunch of regular kids.
Maggie: Thought it would be fun
Jonas: And it wasn't a date, we were just
Sarah: No, whatever, I'm over this.
(Sarah storms upstairs.)
Sarah: I have no idea what of make of today. Black was white. Up was down. Reed a ladies man? Jonas encouraging fun? What planet is this? When did I become the one who had to remind everybody we have a mission? When did I become the fifth wheel? God! I'm sick of this rabbit hole. Things are going to change this weekend. I'm going to make sure of it.
(Giggling is heard from another room and Jonas and Maggie are seen talking)
