Emma’s Choice is the three-hundred seventy-third video in the lonelygirl15 video series. It is also the one-hundred seventeenth video of season two. This video is correctly called "Emma’s Choice", with a punctuation apostrophe (right single quotation mark) instead of a typewriter apostrophe - it resides here for easier accessibility.

(Jonas with marker in hand, Emma behind him. Cheesy game show music plays)

Jonas: (to Emma, as she laughs) Yeah, that's right. (turns to face camera) Oh! Hey! Welcome back to America's favorite show: "Asking Emma Questions". Emma!

Emma: Yes?

Jonas: Are you ready?

Emma: Yes.

Jonas: Let's do this. (turns to Emma, cheesy music fades out) You're first question: "'Taxation without Representation' was a grievance of which of the following groups?" (Daniel comes to sit next to Emma) We have A: American colonists of the mid to late 1700's. B: Southern states during the Civil War. C: Native-Americans during the Spanish-American war. Or D: Female citizens before the 19th Amendment. 19th Amendment.

Emma: (inhales sharply, biting her thumb) Ah, southern? No! No. Um...

Jonas: Emma, I'm going to need your answer.

Emma: A! American colonists.

(Daniel inhales sharply, Jonas turns to camera)

Jonas: Is that your final answer?

Emma: Yes, that's my final answer.

(Daniel taps the bottom of the couch in mock drum roll)

Jonas: She's right.

(Emma and Daniel cheer.)

Emma: I rock!

Jonas: Good job. Emma, this next prize--This next prize can change your life. (Emma inhales) One week, (turns to camera) no dish washer duty. That's no joke.

Emma: (turns to Daniel) Yes!

Daniel: I hope that's a joke.

Emma: (clapping and laughing) No! No!

Jonas: I hope you brought your game.

Emma: Okay.

Jonas: What's the mass of a proton?

Emma: Can I call a friend?

Jonas: Um...

Emma: For like help?

Jonas: Yeah. Yeah. (comes closer to Emma) Okay, but just don't call Dr. Hart, because that would be cheating.

Emma: I call...Daniel!

Daniel: What?

Emma: You're my friend.

Jonas: Alright! She's phoned a friend and it's--I'm sorry, sir. What's your name?

Daniel: Um, Daniel. That's with a "D".

Jonas: She's called her friend Daniel. Let's see what they can work out. I hope he's smarter than he looks.

(Emma and Daniel whisper)

Jonas: Boop-boop-boop. Okay, I'm sorry. That's-that's the buzzer, apparently. I'm going to need your answer.

Emma: The mass of a proton is one-sixteenth of a pound. Yeah. (Daniel and Emma high-five) I got this.

Jonas: Is that your final answer, Emma.

Emma: Yes, that's my final answer.

Jonas: One-sixteenth of a pound?

Emma: Yes. No dish washing?

Jonas: You are wrong. Incorrect answer.

Emma: What?

Jonas: I'm sorry, terribly sorry.

Daniel: I guess you are washing dishes.

Emma: No!

Jonas: The actual answer's slightly more than one atomic mass unit. Slightly more than one atomic mass unit.

Emma: Wait a second. That's not even a real answer. "Slightly more?" That's--I gave --

Jonas: (cheesy game show music resumes) Well! That's all for this week!

Emma: Wait, I gave one-sixteenth of a pound. "Slightly more" is vague.

Jonas: Right. Well, that's for another issue.

Emma: Wait! No!

Jonas: Well, thanks for watching your favorite show: "Ask Emma Questions". We'll see you next time.

(Video ends with a still of Jonas winking at the camera)

  • 1/16th of a pound is 1 ounce.
  • The mass of a proton is actually 1.67x10^-27 kilograms - significantly less than 1/16th of a pound.
