Eric is a "dashing" waiter who works at the steakhouse up the street from Rachel and Aly's apartment. Aly was interested in him, and when Rachel invited her out to dinner, Aly suggested they go to this steakhouse so she could see Eric. That night, Aly stayed at the restaurant until Eric got off work, leaving Rachel to walk home by herself.
