Masonishappy was a companion fanfiction series to lonelygirl15. After LG15: Outbreak won the second season of LG15: The Show Is Yours, All but three of the Masonishappy videos were privated on YouTube, though they were later made public again in June 2010. The series acts as a prologue to LG15: Outbreak, and takes place primarily in March 2008 and makes specific references to the story arcs of lonelygirl15 that involve a Shadow stalking TAAG, Sarah forming a romantic bond with Carl - founder of Sacred Spirit, and Gina's search for Elizabeth Avery.

A follow-up series was originally planned for a release in May titled Koffman File. A Prelude video was posted on May 1st and contained the hidden phone number of a "Dan Koffman". The plotline was planned as follows: "Concluding its LG15 storyline, Mason awakens inside a mental institute and finds himself in the middle of unfamiliar territory a full year after being shot and captured. "Koffman File" retells the story of Mason's escape from captivity, and finally reveals his true intentions and history." However, the series was scrapped for unknown reasons and cryptic videos were posted sporadically for the next few months, with the Prelude video being set to private.

Two videos were produced in at the end of 2009 and the beginning of 2010 to set up for the titular character of Gregory Mason to become officially integrated into the main storyline of LG15: The Misfits. However, the series was canceled, and the second video ("The Misfits?!") is no longer part of the LG15 canon.

The series was well received by the community, and upon his debut speculation began on whether or not the character was a canon part of the LG15 story due to his similar editing style and professional line delivery. As a fanfiction storyline that ran concurrently with and did not interfere with the established canon, it did not spark the controversy that its follow-up LG15: Outbreak later would.
