The New York Film Academy is a private institution teaching courses in various aspects of filmmaking, established in 1992.While it originated in the city of New York and remains headquartered there, it also has three satellite facilities in Europe (in London, Paris, and Florence) and four in the United States, in California, Florida, New Jersey, and Massachusetts.

Jessica Lee Rose and Kevin Schlanser studied at the California NYFA facility, which is located at Universal Studios. While there, they collaborated on the short film, In The Deep. Jackie Jandrell also completed a course there. Jessi Williams, who played Lucy, currently works as the Director of Student Services at the school.
