(Jonas's car is in a parking lot with Sarah inside holding the camera and upbeat rock playing on the stereo. Jonas is walking towards the car with a coffee carrier in his hand.)

Sarah: Hello.

(Jonas opens the car door.)

Sarah: Did you get me my Splenda?

Jonas: (getting into the driver's seat) Ahhhhhh. Here.

Sarah: Thank you.

Jonas: (closing the door) I did get you your Splenda, but before I give it to you I want you to know that these things will kill you. (holding up two yellow packets) And I'm not responsible for that.

Sarah: Oh, you know nothing. They're completely natural. Just like my blonde hair!

Jonas: (noticing the music on the stereo) What is this?

Sarah: What's what?

Jonas: This is no good. Too early. (ejects Sarah's CD)

Sarah: What? What are you doing?

Jonas: This music. Here. (puts in his own CD) These guys are awesome, huh?

Sarah: Have you always been this boring?

Jonas: (confused) How am I boring?

(Cut to driving in a wooded area, with Jonas talking to the camera through the rear view mirror.)

Jonas: You know, I bet Carl and Sonia's not even their real names.

Sarah: You're probably right. But you know what, even if we could contact Carl, it doesn't matter, because he's way too true-blue Hymn of One to believe anything.

Jonas: Yeah, but I would love to talk to Sonia without Carl around, you know?

Sarah: You know what, Jonas? I don't think they know anything.

(Cut to Jonas standing behind a tree in a park.)

Sarah: Anyway, how do even know that Creepy Carl and Sad-Sack Sonia are gonna be here today?

Jonas: (quietly) Based on what I heard Sonia say, they're gonna be here ...

Sarah: (interrupting) Hey, say that again.

Jonas: What?

Sarah: Say "Sad-Sack Sonia" three times fast.

Jonas: Sarah, seriously. Relax.

Sarah: (sighs impatiently) Come on.

Jonas: I had no idea you were such a perky morning person.

(Cut to a picnic table near the street with two people sitting. Carl and Sonia's car slowly pulls up.)

Sarah: Hey, what's that?

Jonas: Wait a minute.

Sarah: Jonas, that's them? That's...

Jonas: That's them. That's them! That's Carl and Sonia!

Sarah: Oh my God.

(The car stops and Carl and Sonia get out. The camera pans back to Jonas.)

Jonas: (whispering) Listen, I need to get a closer look.

Sarah: (Whispering) Jonas, you can't do that! Jonas!

Jonas: Shh! Stop!

Sarah: Jonas, they're gonna see you! (Jonas, keeping low, runs to the next picnic table and ducks behind it.) Fuck! What is he doing?

(Cut to Carl and Sonia conversing with the two people, man and woman, at the far picnic table. Then cut back to Jonas, hiding behind a tree at his picnic table, waving Sarah over.)

Sarah: (whispering angrily) Fine! Fine! (running over to Jonas) I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die!

Jonas: Gimme the camera. Gimme the camera!

(He takes the camera and points it at the group at the other picnic table. Sonya holds a document in a clip. the camera zooms in on the paper, labeled "DOMESTIC PRIVATE 001993.")

Jonas: Let's see what they're talking about.

Sarah: Wait...what is that?

Jonas: Some paperwork...

Sarah: Yeah, I know, but what...

Jonas: Shh! I'm trying to see.

Virgil: (off-camera) Jonas!

(Camera pans to Virgil, a Watcher, running from a park facility towards Jonas and Sarah.)

Sarah: Oh my God.

Virgil: Jonas!

Sarah: Jonas, go. Go!

Jonas: God, you're ruining everything! Come on!

Sarah: Go! Go!

Jonas: It's a freaking Watcher.

Sarah: Yeah, I know. Go! Go!

(Camera pans to the picnic table, where Carl, Sonia, and the other couple have rushed to leave the premises.)

Jonas: What is he saying?!

Virgil: Stop, I'm here to help!

Jonas: Come on! We'll find 'em later!

Sarah: Go! What is this? What is he doing here?

Jonas: RUN! Go!!!

(Camera cuts to all Carl, Sonia, and the other two getting into Carl's car, then cuts to Sarah running.)

Sarah: Oh my...what the hell?

Non-canon version

The original version of this video was 30 seconds longer and featured a phone call the watcher had, presumably with a colleague, talking about Emma. It was pulled off YouTube quickly and replaced by the current 2:00 min version, with Miles posting an explanation soon after, saying:

Miles said:
Hey Everyone,

Unfortunately an error was made and an older version of the “Stakeout… With A Girl” video was uploaded. I am incredibly sorry that this happened, but as I’m sure you know, sometimes mistakes are made. Please IGNORE the previous version of the video. It is NOT canon. The new version is now uploaded (without the Watcher phone conversation) and it IS canon. Thanks for your understanding.

Miles

Notes

  • The Watcher's statement "Stop, I'm here to help!" seems to have been directed at Carl and Sonia and their companions, but may actually have been meant for Jonas and Sarah.
  • The "DOMESTIC PRIVATE 001993" document refers to a private adoption. This is an adoption that is not secured through an adoption agency. This confirms that the Hymn of One itself arranges trait positive girl adoptions within the religion. The couple with whom Carl and Sonia are speaking may be interested in adopting one of these girls.
  • There is no research that demonstrates Splenda (sucralose) consumption can lead to death. However, some studies show that it may, in high doses, have an affect on the immune system[1]. Jonas maybe confusing sucralose with a rival sugar substitute aspartame, the long term use of which may have a link to brain tumors, brain lesions, and lymphoma[2].
  • This is the first time that a watcher has spoken.
