(Memorial Day note)

The note is just a theory, and if we posted all theories in the notes section, it would get pretty long. Not to mention the section would lose some of its credibility. So let's leave the note off for now unless someone can provide a good reason why it should be there. (Also, edit wars are not fun, so let's not go there.) Thanks!--Jonpro 21:33, 29 May 2008 (CDT)

:Could we put something like "It may or may not be a coincidence that this video was posted around Memorial Day, a holiday where many Americans take a long weekend from work."?  And it's a pretty widely accepted fact that the videos are posted a few days ahead of time.  If a Memorial Day break WASN'T why the video was made, I would be very shocked.  Definitely note-worthy in my book, even if it was purely coincidental.  BTW, I don't like edit wars either.  But I also don't like people reverting constructive/potentially constructive edits with no explanation.  The talk pages are for discussion.  I wish editors would utilize this tool...or at least use the edit summaries to give a reason why they're making the edit.  When you don't give an edit summary when reverting an edit that isn't vandalism, I'm going to assume you hit the wrong button/made a mistake.--Malan70 22:26, 29 May 2008 (CDT)

::Sorry, guys, I wasn't trying to accuse either of you of starting an edit war. My frustration came from the fact that I have seen them before and I saw the potential for it happening again. And you're right about using talk pages and edit summaries to explain things. Sometimes it doesn't seem worth it to explain a revert because no one may contest you, but it normally is a good idea to provide some sort of reason. Just a tip for future reference I guess.

::As far as the note goes, I still don't think it's needed. As you said, it is well-known that the videos are made ahead of time, so pointing that out wouldn't really be saying anything new. And your proposed note here doesn't say all that much, as most people know what Memorial Day is and other than that it really is just speculation. You might be absolutely right about it, but 1) we don't know that for sure and 2) it doesn't provide any new information that isn't speculation. Those are just my thoughts; everyone else please feel free to comment.--Jonpro 11:59, 30 May 2008 (CDT)

Nick Caskey: Does anyone know what reason they are doing this? and do you actually think that they are for real not gonna post any videos this week?

Memorial Day note

The note is just a theory, and if we posted all theories in the notes section, it would get pretty long. Not to mention the section would lose some of its credibility. So let's leave the note off for now unless someone can provide a good reason why it should be there. (Also, edit wars are not fun, so let's not go there.) Thanks!--Jonpro 21:33, 29 May 2008 (CDT)

Sorry, guys, I wasn't trying to accuse either of you of starting an edit war. My frustration came from the fact that I have seen them before and I saw the potential for it happening again. As far as the note goes, I still don't think it's needed. As you said, it is well-known that the videos are made ahead of time, so pointing that out wouldn't really be saying anything new.
